What November Means To Me.

What for you, is the essence of November?

When November hits, the year begins to wind down for me. I can see Christmas closely in my sights, and also time off work with my family. Our extended family Christmas party is always celebrated in November too. So that means picnics in the park, and presents. I also like writing my Christmas lists and figuring what I’ll buy for each person.

What makes November special for you?
Spending time with my family makes it special for me. As well my little sister celebrates her birthday, which is always fun. And my best friend is getting hitched. I can’t wait to see her walking down the aisle.

When was your most memorable November you’ve ever had?
In November 2006 my little sister celebrated her 21st birthday. She had a party aboard the Fun Boat on the Sydney Harbour. It was such a fun night, and I have lots of great memories from the celebrations.

How will you spend your leisure time in November?
I am doing a photography course, so I will be taking photos and learning more about photography in my spare moments. As well, I’ll be cooking cupcakes and shopping for Christmas gifts online.

What will you cook in November?
Cupcakes for our family Christmas party. And my girlfriend makes a fruitcake every year, and I was considering making one myself. I just need to nab a good recipe.

What does November mean to you?

  1. November means the end of a university semester for me – crazy study periods but then a sincere burst of freedom which continues long into the new year.

It is the end of many things and the beginning of others – particularly the silly season, the sun and lots and lots of beach time (i hope!).
ps. Glad you had a great time on the weekend 😉

  2. november means layla's birthday….. she turns 6 next week , so party preparations are underway.
It also means chrissy shopping, which i did yesterday. I had a ball with my little sis and crossed alot of pressies off my list!!!
Lastly it means looking at all the fabulous christmas decorations around, I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!

  3. November starts BBQ season, Christmas present finalisation, hunting for new Christmas lights (hubby goes Griswold on me on a worse scale every year) This year I'll be making Christmas pudding (my Nan gave me her recipe woot!) and of course, preparing my two little frills birthday in December *sob* they're going to be FOUR.

I also like to get my calendar for the following year and go on a cleaning/clean out frenzy in preparation for Christmas… 🙂

Oh, and we start going to the beach a bit more..

  4. Melbourne Cup Carnival!!!
And Christmas just around the corner. I adore the anticipation and preparation leading up to Christmas. Swimming! It's finally hot enough to dive into the pool.
    I heart November.
    xx

  5. @Elle: Good luck with the exams. You'll blitz them, and be on the beach on no time. x

@Bee: 6! I can't believe Layla is 6. How old does that make Jesse? I still think of him as a toddler. I'm jealous that you've done all your Christmas shopping. I wish!

@Liss: You're a busy little bee my dear. Your girls are getting bigger too. It's scaring me.

@Jen: I heart November for the swimming too. It's not quite warm enough for me yet though!
