Product Review: Mums Card.

Lacey

spotted the little girl from metres away, which in toddler talk is quite far. She was petite, blue eyed, fair haired and wearing the same shoes that Lacey was. She was super cute, and it was like looking in the mirror.

They stood looking at each other for about five minutes, which in toddler talk is equivalent to forever. They didn’t talk, they just observed.

The toddler’s mother was busy working away in the store and the little girl was just hanging around waiting for her, people watching. Well, Lacey watching really.

I grabbed the mother’s attention and asked: Is this your little girl?

She smiled and we began chatting. It turns out they were exactly the same age. Both lacking in the hair department and both petite for their age. We had a good talk while the girls kept checking each other out. Lacey attempted to give her a little hi-5 and talk to her, but the little girl was more hesitant.

We all got on really well, the mother and I, and knew the girls had the potential to be good little friends. Are you from around here? the mother asked eagerly.

Ah no, I replied with a tinge of sadness, we’re just on holidays. We do come each year though.

The mother looked a little disappointed, and I felt the same. The girls said goodbye and we went on our way. Lacey had to stop every few metres to send her little friend a wave.

Late last year Tanya from Mums Card asked if I’d like to try some of her cards. She led me to her website and helped me choose designs and decide what information I wanted to put on. Is it any surprise to you all that I chose pink? Not really, I’m sure!

When I met the mother and the cute little girl, I thought if I was a local that would have been the perfect situation to use my Mums Card. This is ideally how the situation would have went down {in my over active imagination}:

Are you from around here? the mother asked eagerly.

We are actually, I chirped, we should have a play date with the girls. I passed her my Mums Card and said: Here’s my number, give me a call and we’ll catch up. There’s that great new playground on High Street. We should take them there.

Oh well. At least I’m ready if there’s a next time. xx

  1. Wow! Those cards are such a brilliant idea, when I have a baby I am definately going to get some.
My sister is due in March, I will get her some when I find out the babies name. I am excited now!

That story is really cute, ecspecially the part about Lacey trying to hi-5 her haha.

  2. Chantelle I love the idea of a mums card..will check it out…love the story too..too gorgeous..I would have still handed out my card..you could have kept in touch via the blogging world ; )
p.s my little jacq is also lacking in the hair department..but has some cute curls happening now….you know what they say..the curls get the girls 🙂 x

  3. This gets poo poo'ed all the time, but makes total sense. I have always been in my own business & had business cards for random meetings (even super handy in the play ground at school) & you don't miss out on those chance meetings to expand your circle. Your cards look so inviting, why not use them??!! The worse thing someone can do is smile & toss it, no harm. Have fun making friends, love Posie

  4. I so need to get some mom card for my mom I think she'd enjoy them but I'd be very concerned if she used them to start scheduling play dates for me 😀
