Point & Shoot: A Little Coastal Calm.

O

n Saturday morning we got up and at ’em, and decided to go for a drive and have breakfast up the coast. By the time we’d dressed, and organised ourselves it was pretty much lunch time when we arrived.

This is Lacey’s new way of chillin‘. She rests her little head on her hands and checks out the world. I love it to bits and pieces.
She ate pancakes whilst flirting with a couple sitting at a table nearby. I ate mushrooms and poached eggs on toast. Hubby had something with bacon and eggs benedict. We people watched, enjoyed the Winter sunshine and loved escaping it all.

  1. Poached, please. A little bit of spinach, a tasty rosti, some bacon and a fresh Oj. Mmmm! Glad you had some relaxation time xx

  2. Oh, I love going out for breakfast. I find it so much more relaxing and fun than going out for dinner.

Poached eggs with tomato and mushroom on grainy toast for me, please!

Lacey is so so so adorable. x

  3. I usually order benedict – but preggers means no runny eggs and no hollandaise. 🙁
so it's muesli or fruit or something boring until I can indulge again.

    I like florentine also.
And Vegetable benedict was a favourite at the honey pot cafe in Christchurch. yummo.

    hungry now

  4. Gotta be poached eggies with sauteed mushrooms on toast with barbecue sauce draped generously over the top!!! Hate cafes that are too posh for BBQ sauce!! and a flat white, please. make that 2. YUM

  5. Going out for Sunday breakfast is my fave thing ever – sitting in a georgeous little cafe with the paper & Sunshine.. And of course Eggs Benedict & a pot of English breakfast tea…mmmmm heaven!xx

  6. That would have to be the cutest pic ever!! One of my faves of your gorgeous girl – love her new pose 🙂 Brekky for me is either scrambled eggs on toast or mushrooms on toast. Your morning sounded perfect for the weekend x

  7. Devine pic of little Lacey. Our Sunday, out for breakfast tradition must always include eggs benedict with smoked salmon – delish!!!! Cassie x

  8. Oh looks like you ordered a main of extreme cuteness with your breakfast order. Miss Lacey looks beautiful.

For brekkie I love poached eggs runny on super thick (proper) sourdough with a side serving of crispy bacon.
If it's brunch and we are going to skip a meal and have a boombah breakfast add some spinach and mushrooms and I'm done until dinner. YUMMMM

  9. I always have scrambled eggs – and I love a side of avocado or home made baked beans with buttered toast. 😀

Now, I feel like scrambled eggs for breakfast tomorrow!

  10. Lacey is looking so grown up now! So sweet and adorable. (AND, your photography here is magnificent!)

My ultimate breakfast are the corn fritters from Chaos Cafe near my home: amazing deep fried corn fritters, with salsa, avocado and bacon. While it sounds like a heart attack on a plate, it is yum, yum, yummy.

Hope today has been a little easier for you.

    xx Elise

  11. We're on school holidays away this week hoorah! So that means poached eggs (as I am way to lazy to poach at home) and lots of coffee, long walks & hand holding. Maybe Toy Story 3 if I'm lucky!
    Lacey is just gorgeous…

  12. oooooh the best breakfast I have had when out is a croissant filled with chicken breast, avocado and melted swiss cheese. I loved it so much that on our drive home that day we stopped at the supermarket to buy all the ingredients so that I could have a few more.

  13. Love your blog and all your beautiful pics!
We don't go out for breakfast all that much, but do Saturday morning pancakes or waffles at home every week. It's a fun family tradition we've been doing for almost a year now. We love trying out new recipes. 🙂
If I was going out, I'd order pancakes and my eggs scrambled.
