{one thing}

H

appy hump day. We’re half way through the week, so it’s just a downhill slide into the weekend. Wheeeeeeeeee!

I thought to help us get through the mid-week blues we could focus on the good things. What is one thing that has made you smile today?

Me? It’s a mama moment for me. Lacey has been waking up. Getting out of bed herself. Climbing up the spiral staircase to find me. This is the cutest thing ever. I know it doesn’t sound like anything special… but I love that she’s becoming so independent.

  1. The thing that has made me smile today is my youngest sister. She's a funny young one, and today, while my other sister was in the bathroom, my youngest sister started knocking on the bathroom door, and my sister in the bathroom said “WHo is it?” But she ddn't answer and just kept on knocking!

  2. Doing a workout at the gym this morning. Nothing major, just makes me happy knowing that I'm doing something good for ME. xx

  3. A mumma moment for me too. Charlotte fell asleep in the pram while we were just walking along. This NEVER happens. Usually there's a lot of jiggling/shushing/dummy action required. Unprompted sleep = *smile*

  4. Feeling healthy again after 2-3 days of being sick and my 14 month old sleeping for more than 45 minutes today! Doesn't happen too often.

  5. Spending a day with my Ma today shopping and lunching. We don't get to do it enough together …. so I am glad we got to today! p.s. Thanks for the email – have a fabulous week x Cassie x

  6. Another mumma moment here as well.

A falling asleep in the car and then staying asleep for two hours once I brought him in. Brilliant!

  7. Firstly, I love that photo. Just lovely.

I had two things that made me really happy today. The first thing to put a smile on my face was receiving a surprise email from my overseas fiance. The second was giggling with a colleague about something a little bid rude. Simple things that made my day 🙂

BTW, I love this concept. It's nice to think about the good things that happened as they're often the things we forget to mention.

  8. Seeing everyone get so excited about taking their makeup off on Friday! Didn't expect quite the response.

    Fabulous!

Wait until Lacey is taking herself off to the lounge room in the mornings to read. Even BETTER!

  9. Aww Chantelle, that's sweet about Lacey waking up and making her own way up to greet you in the mornings 🙂 Little girls truly can melt your heart!!

A couple of things made me smile today…but my favourite was: I have a little boy in my class (the school I teach at) this year. I taught his brother 7yrs ago and his sister 6 years ago. Their Mum came into my classroom this morning to say Hi and she brought in the oldest son…who is now 18!! I couldn't believe that that little boy I taught my first year out of uni is now an adult!! It was great to talk to him and hear about his life the past 7yrs! But the thing that really made me smile was: his Mother grabbed me and said “he's too shy to say, but he often talks about you and says you were the best teacher he ever had! She said that her daughter also felt the same way and that's why she was so over the moon that her younngest was also in my class this year!!!
Sorry about the long comment…..but that made my day! And made me feel good about the efforts I put in as a teacher ;o)
