I’m A Little Bit Excited…

M

y tickets are booked and I’m ready to go.

So far I’ve tried to avoid watching snippets from the new Sex & the City movie, and any interviews too. I want to watch it for the first time in the cinema. I don’t want to know who’s wearing what, or dating whoever now, I want to see it then. I’m a Sex & the City tragic. I could {and do} watch reruns over and over again without getting bored. I love it so so much.

When it first aired on television I didn’t watch it. For two reasons really, before Hubby I didn’t really watch TV, and I thought it would be a bit crude. Now I own the series on DVD and I can recite the lines by heart. I even have a favourite episode: the one wear Miranda fits back into her skinny jeans and Carrie gets over the post-it note.

So I’m a tragic. I can’t wait. Can you?

  1. I can't wait either, my 3 favourite girlfriends and I are going to celebrate my birthday and for cocktails afterwards!

I love girly days and love that SATC is such a celebration of female friendships!

  2. I seriously am a SATC tragic as well. I own all 6 series and have watched every episode at least 3 times each, loved the first movie to bits!! I am going with my Mum & sister and I literally have goosebumps just thinking about it! So excited! Jade x

  3. What date are you going? I'm going on 5th June to gold class with 9 other girls! it'll be fabulous – I cannot wait!

  4. I am so looking forward to it aswell, my friends & I have a Gold Class cinema booked out! Just the glitz & glam of it all is so exciting!!! Like you, I didn't watch it when it was first on the small screen, then discovered my passion for it in my mid to late 20's. Now at 34 I can't wait for another SATC instalment on the big screen!

  5. I cant wait either!! I love SATC, some of the mums at school are currently organising to book out a screening at our local cinema!! I cant wait to get out my high heels and go and watch!!

  6. Nope can't wait. We (group of five close gf's from school) have booked our tickets for the premier in our hometown we're all traveling back to for a weekend of SATC goodness. I'm so excited! We've each got different pieces of the four girls in us but they all agree I am a Charlotte through and through!

  7. I'm exactly the same as you. I don't want to see all the ads and interviews so you see half the move before you even get to the cinema! I too also didn't see the series when it first aired but started watching it on Foxtel.

Thank goodness we eventually realised what we missed!

  8. I'm ridiculously excited and am avoiding any media too. & that is by far my fave episode too….I would totally fall for Berger…and my fave line in the whole series is the, “Nerve Clicquot” one. But I do love the final two episodes in Paris too. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. It's such a celebration of friendship and support – oh, and pretty clothes – and no show will come close to it for me ever again.

  9. Beyond excited. Meanwhile, back at the SATC obsessed ranch, I am living in the south of France and it's a MISSION to try and find a cinema that will be screening it in original version! I have a handful of australian g'friends here, so we are desperate to frock up, cocktail-it-up and watch the flick on the big screen. Fingers crossed! Get it together, frenchies!

  10. My girl friends have booked out and entire GOLD Class Cinema on the 5th June to watch Sex in the City 2. We're having dinner out and a few drinky-poos. Of course the sexy outfit and shoes are a must! Planning my outfit already!

  11. Tickets are booked and babysitters organised and 3 of my closest friends and myself will be trotting off to see the movie on the opening weekend.

Definitely followed by a couple of glasses of champers!

  12. Tickets booked at Gold Class for me too.

    Cannot wait.

I watch it every day on Arena, and know most of the episodes by heart… It's weird, there aren't too many shows you can watch over and over.

One of my favourite SATC moments is when Miranda and Carrie are out shoe shopping when Miranda is pregnant and she pulls her own finger and farts, ahahahhahaha.

  13. Oh Im watching it on friday night with sis and a couple of her friends…looking forward to it..even though I havent actually seen Sex in the City 1 yet..lol

  14. I am so excited about it.

I watch it daily and love when I can't remember how an episode ends, it is like a brand new show 🙂

Booking in to see it with the same girlfriends as I went to see the first one with. Can. Not. Wait!

My husband asked this morning how long it could go on…how far can they take it?? I say all the way to the retirement village.

  15. ok i must be the only person in the world who doesn't care too much!! i enjoyed the show and watched the first movie (months later on DVD – hopeless) but have never been a diehard fan. i'm always curious as to what people thought of the book – have you read? I really didn't like it at all so thought the TV series writers did a good job fixing it up for the little screen!
that said, i'm sure i'll watch it eventually!! x

  16. oooh i can't wait either! my tix are booked – a group of my favourite girlfriends and I are going to a charity preview with cocktails and canapes and manolos as the raffle prize!! I too have been avoiding everything. Can not wait 🙂

  17. SO Cant wait…!! We have actually booked out two Gold Class Cinemas and have organised a Breast Cancer Fundraiser. There are goodie bags and raffles and Champers. Looking forward to it Very Much 🙂

  18. sigh… I LOVE SATC… but I fear I will be going alone. I tried getting my girlfriends to fly interstate for it but timing was bad. I'm afraid I'll get sad watching a gold class movie alone, surrounded by girlfriends, watching a movie about girlfriends… I wish I was more excited.

Does anyone have any seats at a charity fundraiser in Sydney that I could attend? Email me via my blog.

  19. I still have, to this day, not watched a single episode of Sex and the City. I feel a little left out because it feels like everyone I know has seen every episode over and over. It's not my fault I go to bed early and was never awake to watch it! 🙂
Perhaps I should do some catching up?

  20. Oh. My. Gosh.
I am the biggest tragic…so much so that I have literally planned my trip to Perth next week around the opening night so that I can go with my best bud, another SATC tragic. We have Gold Class tickets to a preview screening on the 2nd, it's going to be A-MAZING!!!!

    xxLou

  21. Cannot wait either!!!!!!!!!! Tickets booked, restuarant & transportation arranged …. all the girls are very excited. Just gotta love Sex & the City x Cassie
