April photo a day list! Join in!

Hello! Happy Monday. I’m fighting a case of the post-holiday, back-to-work blues today. How are you?

To help beat those pesky blues, I am revealing the April photo a day list {I’d planned to do it tomorrow, but why wait?}. For those that don’t know, or if you’re new here today {welcome!}, each month I reveal a list of prompts for people who like to take photos. Each number corresponds with the date of the month, and you take a photo to match the prompt. There are no hard and fast rules, you can stick closely to the prompt or just use it as inspiration and have your imagination run wild.

Some people have played every month so far, some will be starting for the first time in April, some have done one month and skipped others. There are no rules – so jump in and out whenever you like.

Please note: I have changed the hashtag this month. So many other people have jumped on the bandwagon and are making their own lists with the same hashtag we use, so I’ll be changing it each month. For April the hashtag will be #photoadayApril, and that way we’ll be able to see the photos of people doing the same list as us.

To give an example on how to use the prompts, for the first one ‘your reflection’ you could take a photo of yourself in the mirror or take a more abstract picture with a reflection of you in the toaster, or your hand in the car side mirror.

Once you’ve taken a photo for the day you can upload it to Facebook {and share with your friends}, upload to Twitter {and use the hashtag #photoadayApril}, share on Instagram {again use the hashtag #photoadayApril}, share on your blog, or Tumblr or even Pinterest. Or share on all platforms. There is a great community sharing photos, so it’s great to share socially so you can be part of the community.

Feel free to save the image and share it on any of the platforms. You can even upload it to Instagram and share it with your friends. Have fun!

For those that asked, here’s the list in wallpaper size so you can save it on your iPhone and see the list easily daily.

    I would love to suggest you start an official Flickr Group for each month. There are a few out there, but all are renegades, not the real Fat Mum Slim.

  14. I can never seem to complete a full month. I'll go days (mostly on the weekend) without looking at this list so I can't way to save it as my wallpaper, then I will always see it.

  15. Thanks for doing this! I started playing yours in February and continued through March on Instagram! It keeps me motivated to post at least one (if not more) photos a day on there 😀

I really agree with what you said about the lovely community of people sharing (especially on instagram) I've made quite a few new instagram friends from connecting through this challenge. I'm really looking forward to playing again in April. We are heading overseas tomorrow, and I can't wait to add a photoaday twist to my holiday snaps

  33. Looking forward to joining in for the first time. It is a good month to begin as I turn 50 in April and will have lots of special things to take photos of. Posting on Facebook and my new blog which I am keeping to myself for now, maybe one day will share, when I am braver. Hugs MC

    just wanted to let you know how much i'm loving the instagram photo-a-day challenges. 🙂 i have to confess, i haven't managed to post a photo each day, but i do post when i can. but the thing i love the most about the challenge is that it shows me how much more alike we all are than different. and that gives me hope for peace.

  102. Is there a reason the hashtag changed? It's historically been #[month]photoaday, but this month is #photoaday[month]. Which should we be using?

    • Hey Tori. The hashtag changed because so many other people were creating challenges and taking our hashtag and riding on it.

      So after a few requests I decided to change it so that when we search it we can only see the photos fro the list I created. It's better for the community.

      So the correct hashtag to use for April is #photoadayApril xx

  160. I've played every month this year, I even started this one. But I feel as though a lot of April's are repeats or so similar to past ones & no offense, I got quite bored of it.
    Hoping May's is good though, I really do enjoy doing them daily.
