  2. Mine started on LiveJournal in 2003 so it shocks me to know it is over 10 years old! My photo blog is much younger but I’ve only recently started really using it- I only have a few followers since no one really knows about it. It is at http://Arty-Kat.blogspot.com if anyone wants to see my Appalachian blog (USA)

  3. Wow! That’s ages. How long was it before you got popular? My blog (http://ohwedo.blogspot.co.uk) only came into existence in February, and I’ve only been blogging at all since the beginning of the year. I hope I can be as inspirational, inclusive, and friendly as you are, and get better at it!

  4. In 2005 I had one of those nineMSN ‘spaces’ (anyone remember those?) where I blogged a lot. I remember linking my oh-so-not-techno-savvy grandpa to the photos on there, and he somehow found the blog. He printed about 20 pages of hearfelt spill and read it over a cup of coffee.
In 2007 I got my first blogger address which was secret, and I only shared with people I trusted.
In 2011 I fell pregnant and wasn’t coping at all. I truly believe it’s my blog that provided the biggest release and creative outlet.
A few months ago I decided that all cool bloggers have their own .com, and now I’m live at samiati.com
So I guess I’ve been blogging longer than you, Chantelle! 😉

  5. Hi! 🙂 My blog was launched on May 23rd, 2013! 🙂 Not that old but I plan to have it for a long time. I’m focusing on content over making money because I believe that is the way to become successful with your blog. Great blogversation:)

  6. My first blog (Amusing Michelle) started at the very end of 2010. It was a way of sharing my work without boring my friends and family on Facebook, LOL! It is pretty much completely focused on card-making, so when I started doing a little photography, I started another blog (Happy Snap Michelle) in January 2012. That way my papercrafting friends aren’t bored by my photos. 🙂 I’ve made so many friends blogging, and learned so much by reading others’ blogs. I love this community!

  7. I attempted to start a blog around 2009, but didn’t have anything I really wanted to talk about. Then I had a kid and by March of 2011 I realized that it would be a great way to keep the many grandparents in the know so I started again. Turns out only one grandparent reads it, but I’ve been able to connect with other bloggers with kids my age. It’s great to read what’s going on with their kids – it’s a nice community to turn when a lot of my friends have kids that are older than mine.

  8. I began blogging way back on the 2nd March 2007. The years have flown by and it so good to look back, it’s like a family diary, any event I seem to be able to find when someone asks “when did we”. I’ve also had a 3 blog books published and I’m almost ready to order my 4th. These are a wonderful family and creative document for me. I wonder what family will think of them decades down the track. A great window into our lives, something I would love to have for some of my relatives who are no longer with us. I hope I don’t ever stop blogging, it’s a big part of who I am.

  9. i started around 2007/2008 when i was working as a primary school teacher and wanted a way to share some of the children’s work with parents who weren’t able to be at the school because of work commitments.
i then started another one when i was heading overseas travelling as a way to keep in touch and post photos – but lack of internet meant i didn’t post as often as i would’ve liked.
my newest blog at http://www.amandaattard.com started as a result of work mates constantly asking me for the recipe for whatever i was eating for lunch. it’s been going for around 4 months.

  10. I had a little blog in 2008 but it was seldom used and a bit of a dumping ground for my mind, which wasn’t all that happy at the time. My blg now (The Strands Of Me) has been going since around March 2010.

  11. Gee You’re Brave began when we headed off on our RTW trip in 2009, so 4 years ago now. How the time flies

  12. I have been blogging for about 4 years now, but I deleted all of it and started fresh at the beginning of this month.

  13. My current blog is 1.5 years old but I’ve been blogging on and off (on a private friends-and-family blog) since 2008.

  14. Mine is 2.5! I’m still working on creating content for readers often, I get stuck (writers block?) sometimes and take a little break! Also, I’m not sure about sharing the details of my family but that seems to be what draws people to blogs…tough one!

  15. Well, my blog archives go back to 2009, but I don’t really feel like I started blogging proper-like until 2011. That was when I started thinking more seriously about what I put on my blog – and even then it probably wasn’t until last year when I felt like I would actually call myself a “blogger” and have it actually mean something. At least, I think it means something!

  16. My first blog started January 15, 2006.
Due to some personal difficulties, I had to stop writing there, and created Knit. Run. Reap. Eat. on May 14, 2008.
Happy blogaversary, Chantelle! Yours is one of my favorites!

  17. Blogging has been a trial and error for me since 2011. Since then, I’ve started and taken a break from two blogs. Time played a factor, but mostly because I was so focused on the numbers–how many followers do I have, how many has my site gotten, who’s commenting on what post, etc… It started becoming less fun and more of a chore.

But now, starting my new blog, I have a different perspective, and I’m really trying to focus on the things I love to do (mainly just writing) and not so much on the numbers or the hits. That comes secondary to the enjoyment and fulfillment of finally having an outlet to express myself.

Thanks for posing the question! Love your blog, especially your photos. They’re always so lovely 🙂

  18. I started my first blog in 2009. Then, I started drifting in and out before completely stopping for awhile. I went back to my old blog for a little bit in 2012. But, I wanted something completely new and that is when I started my site that I have now. The blog I have now started this year in June.

  19. Actually, having said I started in 2007, that did only refer to my current blog. I kept another blog under a pseudonym from June 2005 until August 2007 which I loved but had to stop as it was about our personal life (it broadly covered our pregnancy and related matters) but my wife didn’t like it being public, even under a pseudonym. It’s still out there somewhere but I can’t share a link. Not allowed.

  20. March 31st, 2008 so that would be 5 and a bit years, five and a half blogofmichele.blogspot.com.au

  21. Like half a year or so… I’m kinda struggling to get a rhythm though. For me thats the hardest part.

  22. Mine is only two weeks old! I’ve wanted to blog for a while and finally did it. Having so much fun. Currently figuring out how to sort out all my thoughts on different topics so it doesn’t come out to readers like verbal mush LOL! Would love it if you stopped by and gave me some feedback, Chantelle! Love your blog x

  23. My blog is about a year and a half old. Started it just to show ideas for products I sell. Now find that even though I am still doing that, the blog is more about what I am creating. Still not very good at the writing and don’t have many hits but I really enjoy posting. Just an outlet for me I guess.

  24. 9 months for me… wow how time flies! I’m still trying to make sure I post regularly, at first I wanted to post a few times a week, but now I aim for once a week, but don’t beat myself up about it if I miss one here or there. http://nattie3.wordpress.com/

  25. my blog will be one year old on Jan 3rd 2014 . . . I really can’t believe it, what started off as a hobby when I was recovering from cancer has evolved and grown so much, only 35 followers off 1,000 I am over the moon and so in love with it!
