The Best ANZAC Biscuit Recipe

The Best ANZAC Biscuit Recipe

ANZAC day is special for our family. It’s a day where we always take time to pay our respects, for those who have fallen. Most years we’ll head to Dawn Service, and I’ll cry {because it’s what I do} and we’ll reflect on where we are today, because of those who have helped Australia to be the place it is.

And then, every year I make ANZAC biscuits. This is one of my favourite ANZAC biscuit recipes, I hope you love it too.

Ingredients

1 cup plain flour

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup desiccated coconut

1 cup brown sugar

125g butter

2 tablespoons golden syrup

1 tablespoons water

1/2 teaspoon bicarb soda

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC, and line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Combine the flour, oats, coconut and sugar into a bowl. Mix to combine.
  3. Place the butter, golden syrup and water into a saucepan. Cook over low heat until all melted. Turn the heat off, and add in the bicarb soda. Stir to combine.
  4. Add the butter mixture to the dry ingredients, and stir to bring the mixture together.
  5. Place tablespoon heaps of mixture into balls, and onto the prepared baking tray. Bake for 15 minutes.
