10 Family-Friendly Things To Do In Noosa With Kids

Noosa is one place I like to visit each year. It’s one of my favourite places on earth, because it doesn’t disappoint. My bestie and her family visit annually, and we take the opportunity to head up and spend some time with them. The kids get on like a house on fire, and we love good food so we always have a special dinner. Noosa is the perfect place for all of that to happen. I think it’s a perfect spot for families to visit, and here’s why…

10 Family-Friendly Things To Do In Noosa With Kids

1. Swim!

This is number one of the list, because it’s what kids love to do, and Noosa begs you to do it, so SWIM! You can choose from the beautiful beach, the river or your hotel pool. There are so many great spots. I love Noosa Beach because the surf isn’t too hectic, and it’s great for families. The river is great too, because it’s super calm and great for little kids. If you’re looking for a great resort with a pool, the Sofitel has the best pool that I’ve seen in Noosa, and this photo of Lulu is when we stayed at Seahaven Apartments, which has three pools. So pack your cossies, and swim!

2. Watch the sunset on the beach

I’m a sucker for a good sunset, and Noosa seems to do them beautifully. It’s great to let the kids play in the sand while you experience the sunset. Pack some sand toys, and sit back and relax.

3. Eat at the surf club

We love the Noosa Surf Club, because it’s in the perfect location {right on the beach} and the food is good, and the vibe is relaxed. It’s great for kids, and not too fussy that you’re stressing about the kids making noise while you eat. If you’re feeling a little bit fancy, try the hot & cold seafood platter… it’s massive and delicious, or go a little simpler and order a bucket of prawns and some beers.

4. Shop the strip

This is one of the reasons I really, really love Noosa… it’s the shopping. I might not buy a whole lot, but I love that when I’ve had enough of swimming, I sneak out and leave Hubby to wrangle the kids and I stroll Hastings Street and take in all the shopping delights. I seem to buy more for the kids, but they have such great stuff!

5. Eat an ice cream on the beach

A trip to Noosa without eating ice cream… isn’t really a trip to Noosa! Along Hastings Street you’ll find a whole heap of delicious ice cream stores, from gelato to nitrogen ice cream. We love the little ice cream truck at the end of the beach, where you can grab a soft serve with sprinkles.

6. Hike the national park

Take the promenade along the beach, past the surf club, and keep heading south to head towards the National Park. You’ll see beautiful views of the coastline, and experience beautiful bushland. You can take the kids, or take some time for yourself.

7. Get active with the family

What I love about Noosa is that it’s a family-orientated spot to holiday, but also it’s a great spot for getting active with the kids. Not only is there loads of swimming to be had, but you can also surf, stand-up paddle board, kayak, walk, hike, or even scoot. Noosa is really flat so it’s easy to take your scooters, and get around. We were gifted these scooters from Micro, and they fold up small so took up no room in our luggage and meant we could scoot around to where we want to go.

8. Totally relax

Holidaying is all about balance, right? You can do all the swimming and the active stuff, and then you need downtime. So remember to relax as well. I love that Noosa has warm weather, which is perfect for lolling about by the pool, or on the beach, or inside reading a book. It’s easy to find a spot to take some time to breathe and unwind.

9. Hire a SUP, kayak or boat

For my 30th birthday, we hired a boat and explored the river and checked out all the mansions and tried to pick which one we’d buy when we won lotto. You can hire a stand-up paddle board, a kayak, or a boat like we did and enjoy the water.

10. Dine on the local delights

Oh the food! While we always head to the surf club for dinner or lunch, there is always somewhere else to try. For fancy restaurants, I love Sails, Noosa Beach House, and Bistro C. I love Betty’s Burgers too for comfort food. There’s so much great food to eat, so just stroll and pick somewhere new to try.
