Winter Time.

In the newspaper on Sunday they always have a list of what is cool, and what’s not. I like reading it. Sometimes it’s funny. Sometimes it’s true.

Last Sunday they had a little bit about Bondi. What’s cool? Bondi in Winter. When the backpackers are away, the locals can play!

It’s so true.

In Summer it feels like everyone takes over our little suburb. But in Winter everyone stays away and it feels like home. I love it.

Does anything change at home for you when the seasons change? When do you like where you live best?

  1. In winter I guess the biggest change is not being able to spend as much time on our deck, or with the doors open. I love the fresh air and don't much like being cooped up inside. That said, I'm not a fan of summer either – than means back insaide with the aircon blasting! So, spring & autumn for me.

  2. I live(d) in Kemah, Texas and there we have the Kemah Boardwalk, it's a tourist attraction. The city it's self is small, everyone knows everyone type of place. You could drive through Kemah in 30 seconds, literally. On a nice weekend or during the summer though, I could be sitting in 15 minute traffic just to get across the street. I hate it, but love it at the same time.

I would post the link here but there is something wrong with it 🙁

You can google Kemah Boardwalk, it really is a fabulous place to live though.

  3. I bet its annoying for you in summer, i often think about how the locals go with parking if you just want to head down the shops or something.

I live near the “foot of the blue mountains” so nothing much changes for us out here with the seasons, except of course for the extremes in tempreatures.

But, the best best best part of the year for me is when the air is really crisp (especially on a really windy autumn day) and in certain spots near home you can see all the way out to the mountains. its breathtaking.

And thats about all the lovelly where i live! haha

  4. forster/tuncurry is the same as bondi in summer. we get overcrowded though our infrastructure cant support the extra bodies and the shopping is no where like sydney.

i love winter [il be dragging my boyfriend up there next month] cause it is so quiet and relaxed.

and well where i live now – mt druitt – well..its pretty much the same all the time..

  5. I love late spring, many things in full bloom, starting to get warm enough to go down to bayview with the kids for a dip and of course it's just lovely to have some sunshine after the winter.

I know what you mean about Bondi in winter – Manly's the same 🙂

  6. Its lovely here in winter because that means football which means state of origin. And in queensland they LOVE their state. I mean REALLY! I feel a little left out as im not a queenslander but its still nice to see such passion.
I love the smell of barbeques…for some reason your own barbeque doesnt have “that smell” its always someone elses. So in summer you can usually smell it more. Although we have been using ours more of late.
But really my favourite time is christmas…everyone is loving and happy and festive and everything is so nicely decorated and people say merry christmas when they serve you, its all so warm and fuzzy.
