What To Watch.

I

‘ve watched Sex and the City more times than I could honestly count. So I am now ready to explore another TV series on DVD. I don’t really watch any TV series whilst they are on TV because I never remember to watch episode after episode. I usually just get them on DVD.

So please recommend a TV series for me to watch. I’m open to anything, and it can be old too. I haven’t watched any Grey’s or even Ally McBeal.

I’m looking forward to your offerings. xx

  1. The Office and 30 Rock are my personal favs. Folks rave about Dexter but I'm just starting to watch it and am having trouble getting into it.

As for old stuff, can't go wrong with the first few seasons of Beverly Hillbillies. Classic stuff.

  2. Friends is great! It's especially fun watching the earlier series. They all look so young. I've got it all on VHS and DVD.

Greys is great too – I have most of this on DVD.

I'd be more than happy to loan either of these out if you want to watch them.

  3. You should organise some sort of DVD Swap.
I have all entourage dvd's somewhere (great show)
I also have Dexter (S1), Californication <3 (S1), All of the House seasons..... (and sex and the city hehe)

Love My Way is australian and brilliant (apparently). I would love to start watching that.

  4. Ooh, definitely House and Bones. My two faves. I'm sure both have the beginning seasons on DVD. Who doesn't want to watch David Boreanaz. Mmmm, too sexy.

  5. I have heard great things about Dexter and Love My Way and agree with Nicky a DVD swap sounds fabulous!
I personally love Grey's Anatomy, Lipstick Jungle, Cashmere Mafia, Private Practice but also have copies of the Dawson's Creek, 90210 (sad I know right?),the OC, Lost, Sopranos and many others.

  6. my faves are:

greys [but you already knew that]
    true blood
    gossip girl
    packed to the rafters

i can watch these on repeat. over and over and over again.

oh and gilmore girls. i own that box set.

    – let me know if you want any – i can 'lend' you them 🙂

  7. Nicky picked my absolute favourites – Entourage, Dexter, Californication these should not be missed – Breaking Bad is fantastic too! Oooh I want to watch them again now 🙂

  8. Gosh, I've only watched SATC series once, but loved it. Wished I had their zing!

I love Greys. And Entourage. And Californication.

Gossip Girls has been suggested to me, and I have the first series here, borrowed, and ready to watch.

Like the sound of some of the suggestions here too!

  9. You MUST watch Grey's Anatomy! It is one of my all time favourites!! :)Other great series to watch include Scrubs, Friends and Prison Break.

  10. Big Love, where the man has 3 wives. I didn't really get into it when it was on TV. But hired the series out whilst on maternity leave waiting for my stubborn baby to arrive, and actually loved it.

  11. i wished i had watched brothers and sisters, i caught a few eposides and it looked soooo good….
i love gilmore girls, i have a few of the series on dvd if you want to borrow. also love grays and love my way!!!!

  12. Love My Way – cant recommend it enough & its set near where you live too I think!

Also United States of Tara is fantastic.

Have fun!Its certainly the weather for it!

  13. Grey's Anatomy (the first few seasons are the best), Love My Way and The West Wing are my faves 🙂 Oh and SATC of course!

  14. Rescue Me is a brilliant show, about a bunch of US firefighters, post 9/11. They don't talk about it much, but it's always there in the background. It's fantastic.

Scrubs is a good one too.

  15. Hi there, my all time favourite is Six feet under. Excellent!!! Love my way is second on my list and it is brilliantly written. Very sad though, so prepare yourself for some crying. [I actually sobbed heartwrenchingly out loud for the first time ever at a tv show].

  16. Agree with love my way and brothers and sisters. But THE BEST tv series by far is Weeds! It took over my sex and the city obsession.

  17. Ooooh lots, and lots of good suggestions there.

I have watched and loved Love My Way. It's one of my faves.

Will have to re-look at this list and decide over the weekend. A swap sounds like it might be a great idea. x

  18. I think all of the suggestions are great. And I am going to be the ONLY one that says Prison Break. I liked it. It had a short run, but it was intriguing. Besides…what Prison Break could go on forever anyways?!?

  19. I'm going to recommend, “Love my Way” and “Gilmore Girls” too…but if you go, “Love my Way” you should buy BOXES of tissues in advance Chantelle. As with others, “Mad Men”, “Entourage” and “Grey's” are all worth watching too. I LOVE a good TV marathon – happy watching.

  20. Buffy the Vampire Slayer! I had so much fun re-watching the entire series with my sister a couple of years ago.

And The Tudors, I've only watched season one but loved it to pieces, and even my sister, who has no interest in history whatsoever, absolutely loved it. In fact my entire family sat down and watched it with me last Christmas Eve.
