  1. This looks gorgeous! My boyfriend is currently working out in Perth, so I’ll ask him to bring some back with him if customs allow it?

Does anyone know if there’s something similar to Tim Tams in the UK though? What do they taste like?

    xo

    • Hi Amber-Rose, I’m from New Zealand (and we have Tim Tams here too) and I lived in the UK for 2 years, also am married to a Brit! I think the UK’s Penguin buscuits are a slightly more basic form of Tim Tams but I’m guessing they may work out ok in this recipe too 🙂 Otherwise, depending on where you live in the UK, you may be able to find a NZ / Australian shop – I know there are a couple in London (Ground floor near New Zealand House has one) and they may stock Tim Tams 🙂 Good luck!

      • Would you believe it that Tim Tams are actually based on the Penguin biscuit from the UK. The penguin biscuit came first!

    • Amber-Rose Thomas..they are just pure goodness add them with a coffee or a drop of port and you are walking to the gates of heaven..lol..xD

  2. This looks so yummy! Pepperidge Farm sells TimTam “Australia’s Favorite Cookie!” (it says so on the label) in the US … I get them at a store calledTarget!

  3. I will definitely be giving this one a go, thanks for sharing! I’m just wondering though whether it’s suitable to make the day before?

  4. Chantelle, please help! I have the Tim Tam pie in the oven now, and it’s due to come out but it’s still runny, does it set more in the fridge? Have guests coming for dinner tonight and have boasted about making this amazing dessert

  5. I live in Texas and we have Tim Tams at Target! My husband and I did the “Tim Tam Slam” on New Year’s Eve this year. 🙂 Also, when I looked at the package and it said “Australia’s Favorite Cookie,” my first thought was, “I wonder if Chantelle : Fat Mum Slim likes them?”

Hope you’re okay with being the entire continent to me.

  6. I so want this. I’m staying good. I’m staying good. Funny story about Tim tams. I use to send them in care packages when my boy was overseas. I thought I was the best wife ever. Wasn’t till years later he told me he didn’t get one of the packets I sent him. Someone should have reminded me of the 50 degree heat where he was. Oops. Oh well my heart was in the right place. And a melted Tim ram is still a Tim tam. Lol.

  7. When you say thin cream, what is that exactly? I’m looking for the not-so-bright-American translation.

  8. Made the tim tam tart today. Taste sooo good, but it’s still quite runny even after a few hours in the fridge. Should I be using baking chocolate? I used milk chocolate ( not baking ones).
