In the Thermomix: Pretty delicious scone recipe

In the Thermomix: Pretty delicious scone recipe

I already have a great scone recipe that I love. It’s only got three ingredients and it makes the best scones ever, so I was a little pessimistic in trying the Thermomix recipe. We had friends over so while Hubby chatted I quickly put the ingredients into the Thermomix, switched on the oven and went about making them. It seriously took just minutes to make them {but then so too does my favourite recipe}. I popped them in the oven, and then went back to chat to our friends.

Moments later we had perfectly baked scones, with jam and cream. Our friends had no idea that I was even making them, and were surprised that they’d been made so quickly. We popped some jam on and some cream and gobbled them up.

I shared the photo above on Instagram and it caused quite a stir. Some people passionately believed that the cream should go first and then the jam. Surely that can’t be right? Don’t you need a firm surface to remove the jam from your spoon? Doesn’t that just make a creamy, jammy mess?

Thermomix Scone Recipe

3 cups of SR flour
2 tbsp sugar
Pinch of salt
3/4 cup thickened cream
1 cup milk

Method

♥ Preheat oven to 200°C and line a tray with baking paper.
♥ Place all ingredients into the Thermomix and mix on Speed 5 for 2 seconds. Knead until it has come together to form a dough. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and cut into rounds using the MC or use your hands to make rounds. Cook for 12 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
♥ Serve with jam and cream, or cream and jam.

How do you do your scones? Jam first? Or cream first?

  1. Jam then cream!! Best Scone Recipe for Thermomix – ‘Devil of a Cookbook’ they are
    absolutely divine!!!!!

  2. Jam then cream of course! As a none thermo owner can I possibly ask for your other thermie less scone recipe please? To date I’ve not yet found a good one

  3. I cannot fathom how you would put jam on top of cream! It would be heavier right so surely it would fall through the cream anyway? Or cause the whole topping to slide off??

and now I want scones 🙂

  4. Definitely jam first. I have a very old scone recipe that everyone loves, however, I am going to try this one, sounds great.
