The Day I Photographed Miranda Kerr.

I

was lucky enough to shoot Miranda Kerr last week. She’s my favourite model, and it was quite an honour. Ok, ok… I fib. I photographed a picture of her on a box. Where did I put my glamorous life? Has anyone seen it?

I actually saw Miranda {if you don’t know her she’s dating Orlando Bloom and is a Victoria Secret’s model} once. It was about 4 years ago and she wasn’t as big as she is now. Big as in famous, not as in chubby.
We were at our local shopping centre and back then she was my favourite model {yes, I pick favourites… it’s what I do} and I was trying to discreetly point her out to Hubby who had no idea what I was going on about. He just looked at me as if to say: ok, whatever… weirdo.

Shall we move on? When I was contacted recently asking if I’d like to try Miranda’s new range of organic beauty products, Kora, I jumped at the chance. I like anything organic. It always makes me feel like I’m doing something good. As if I’m one of those thoughtful people who builds villages in Africa for children {well, not quite}.

And the products feel like they’re doing good to my skin as well. They smell like they’re whispering positive affirmations to my pores whilst dancing to kumbaya. Honestly, that’s the best way to describe it.
When I opened the body wash I was expecting something pretty and pink with little champagne coloured bubbles to ooze out. But no. Organic is organic… and it’s a natural brown colour… which was quite comforting {in between the imaginary kumbaya and affirmations}.
So a thumbs up from me for these lovely goodies. And moreso, a thumbs up from Hubby. Let it be known that my metrosexual husband has a very strict beauty routine… which he has now decided includes a little Kora… and with no strawberry scents or pink hue in sight… he’s quite the happy camper.
Kumbaya, my friends.
Does your partner have a secret beauty routine? Is he a little more high maintenance than you?

And if you’d like to hint to your partner on how they can be a little more romantic send them over here, Miranda has given up her top ten tips on how to be more romantic. Personally, I like number 8. Hint, hint.

  1. Lovely husbans shaves his head evey single day. His whole head. Smooth as. Every. Single. Day.

And as such he exfoliates and moisturizes his whole head too.

He uses something called Santum at the moment, but could, no doubt, be swayed by Miranda……

  2. I married a bearded Kiwi, no beauty routine here- soap is where it begins and ends… doubt he could be swayed by Miranda… I know what he would say if he saw her “she needs a good steak”… thankfully for me , he prefers women more of the Amazonian type…

  3. My man is the most un-beautified person ever. He thinks he is way too masculine for “that shit”. Ha!

Although I wouldn't mind if he cared a little more about beauty products/grooming etc, I'm glad he isn't more high maintenance than me.

PS I loved your review of the Kora products. I've always walked past them in David Jones and wondered whether or not they would actually make me look like Miranda. xx

  4. You post made me laugh about photographing Miranda. It's nice to hear you enjoyed the Kora products. I really want to buy them but can't at the moment, but with your positive review I certainly will.

    xx

  5. I've been thinking about trying the Kora stuff. I might buy it when my cleanser runs out.

My hubby doesn't have a beauty routine. But he will only use one brand of shaving cream and will only shave in the shower. I've tried to get him to use moisturiser on his dry skin but no luck so far!

  6. she's a doll…Orlando is very lucky to have scored himself an Aussie jewel. Thanks for sharing your views on Kora..always good to know x

  7. Your story about running into Miranda Kerr made me laugh… I was at WBJ a few years ago over Christmas (maybe 4 years ago too!) when I saw her… in the ladies toilets… she came out of a cubicle and went straight out the door. I wondered why she hadn't washed her hands but maybe she didn't need to?! Totally random celebrity-spotting!

  8. This is one of the funniest posts I've read in ages. I love that you dream the life and then… live a different life. (And I know that you secretly love your real life more than your secret life.)

As regards the male grooming pattern, LOML likes his Cetaphil face lotion (as do we all) and he believes that the fact that he moisturises (even with a product best described as low-key) makes him a “little bit” metro. But he recently purchased a shaving balm. A balm. He's fully metro now.

  9. Luke has just decided that he's got to the stage in life where he can't eat anything he wants and stay thin. So, he's recently got onto the 'health' bandwagon.
This would be good for me too, if he had any idea of what was healthy/unhealthy or if he was remotely commited!!

  10. I wonder how they would fare on sensitive skin?
I really want to like Miranda Kerr, because (apart from the fact that she is drop dead gorgeous) I share a lot of her views on healthy organic eating and living, and I'm sure I read in an article that if she wasn't a model she would like to study naturopathy. However whenever I see her interviewed she irritates me to no end… she simpers…
