Ten Celebrity Baby Names I Love + A Few … Not So Much.

I

love waiting for the announcement that another celebrity has given birth for two reasons.

One: Because it’s a happy moment.
Two: Because I get to find out what they name their little bundle of joy.

Here are ten celebrity baby names I like:

♥ Harper Willow {Dave Grohl + Jordyn Blum}
♥ Jett Hamilton {Jill Scott + Lil John Roberts}
♥ Beckett Edward {Nicole Sullivan + Jason Packham}
♥ Finley Rae Martineau {Daniel Baldwin + Joanne Smith}
♥ Kiyan Carmelo {LaLa Vasquez + Carmelo Anthony}
♥ Nahla Ariela {Halle Berry + Gabriel Aubry}
♥ Ryder Russell {Kate Hudson + Chris Robinson}
♥ Everleigh Ray {Dominique Geisendorff + Cam Gigandet}
♥ Ava Eliot Jackman {Hugh Jackman + Deborra-Lee Furness}
♥ Stella Luna Pompeo Ivery {Ellen Pompeo + Chris Ivery}

And the not-so-much:

* Ikhyd Edgar Arular Bronfman {M.I.A. + Benjamin Bronfman}
* Atlas {Anne Heche + James Tupper}
* Magnus Paulin {Will Ferrell + Viveca Paulin}

What names do you love, and which do you not-so-much love?

  1. I love love love the name Freya. A UK celebrity Donna Air and her then partner Damian Aspinall named their daughter Freya and its stuck in my mind ever since. While I was in London another celebrity who I can't think of called her daughter Mabel. I love the name Mabel too.

  2. When it comes to celebrity baby names, there are more I seem to dislike these days..it's like they are trying to outdo each other..like the latest Richie/Madden baby name, Sparrow…oh dear!

  3. Agree with Jessica – Sparrow has to be the all-time worst baby name EVER. All I can think of when I hear that name is bird poo. UGH.
    But surely you need to give an honourary note to Blanket Jackson. Until Sparrow came allow, it didn't get worse than that.

  4. am i the only one that likes sparrow? i dunno why. but i like it! and i like pilot inspector too!!

    i think that Ikhyd could actually be a sri lankan name, where MIA is from. i vaguely remember reading something like that..

    i plan on calling my child something weird and wacky. its the only way to go!

  5. Harlow – Nicole Ritchie & Joel Madden
    Apple – Gwyneth Paltrow & Chris Martin

    And we very nearly chose Ryder for our boy, but Oscar won by a nose!

  6. I love the name Harper but my fiancee wouldn't let me call either of our twins it. So we went with Jules (for our boy) and Ivy (for our girl). We already have a little girl Stella. I am lovin' the old school, old english names. My name is Shilo and my partner is Brad…yep, we got asked by everyone when I was pregnant first time around – if we were going to call our daughter Angelina. haha

  7. I dislike most of the names on both your lists! I am a nanna and really like the traditional names- I was excited that SJP named her twins Tabiha & Marion. Gorgeous!

  8. I dunno…Sparrow is okay. I'm still can't believe Apple is a little girl's name! Shiloh is different but could definitely be worse! I, more often then not, do not like the bizarre names that celebrities pick!

  9. I don't care so much about the names, but can people PLEASE stop trying to give their kids “individual” spelling? It looks ridiculous (it won't give your child a difference to any other kid, that's down to personality), and makes me automatically judge the parents as trashy.

    As someone who's father mis-spelled her name on the birth certificate BECAUSE HE WAS DRUNK from celebrating, I can categorically state that IT IS NOT FUN to have to keep spelling your name to people every day of your life.

    Rant over.

    If I do fall pregnant, our child will have a normal name like Margaret, Elizabeth, Ruby, Thomas, Peter or Michael. And they will all be spelled normally. 😛

  10. I love these names! My husband- not so much! He would just go Italian or Bible names!!! I love… Harper, Willow, Hamilton (LOVE this- but have only just heard it on your blog, and not before!!), Nahla (VERY cute), Ava- I prefer Avery, Ivery- I prefer Ivy!!

    As you can see, we'll have a few issues to work out when we have kids!!
