Sweet Stuff.

T

oday I had a moment. A moment where I almost had to stop myself from raiding the baking cupboard for a spoonful of semi-sweet {and a whole lot of bitter} cooking cocoa.

A little moment of stress passed me by. Okay, it didn’t pass me by. It consumed me. First of all I tried to problem solve, and then I tried to find chocolate, or something containing sugar.

My mind raced through the kitchen. I had nothing. Not a piece of chocolate. Not a spoonful of Milo. Nothing.

When I used to live in the Country I was around a ten minute drive from a corner store. It’s off-putting to think you have to be appropriately dressed, get in the car and drive to the store. Being in the City is different. It’s always only a 5 minute walk to any given store {i.e. chocolate supplier}. And that’s dangerous.

But there is a happy ending. I did succumb. I bought a small diet coke. I didn’t buy chocolate.

One small step, I guess. And I didn’t even really enjoy it. It’s more in my head… than anything else.

On a positive note I have exercised twice this week. Yay for me. This morning Lacey woke two hours earlier than usual. Usually something like that would put me off walking… but instead I let Hubby sleep in, rugged Lacey up and took her for a walk at 5am {at a chilly 11 degrees celsius… brrr} with me.

How are you doing {if you’re involved in the Operation: Fat Mum Slim}?

Oh and super dooper thank you going out to all those that voted for me in the Blog This challenge. I won. Yay. Yay. Yay. xx

  1. 5am?! You are one crazy lady 😉 Well done on the resisting the chocolate and on the blog this challenge.

I myself am feeling the need for chocolate today which I may succumb to as what I would really like is a drink! (Close relative being exceptionally rude about engagement, ring and my lovely other half has left me feeling very angry and upset… something only chocolate or booze may (kind of) fix!) Just remind me to breathe…

  2. there must have been something in the air this morning i swear it because my partner and I were both awake at 4.30am… only i got annoyed with the bird outside making too much noise and my partner decided it was better to go to work and get a headstart on the day – you did better than us both – well done 🙂 keep going!!

  3. good for you sis!!! i am with you! i nearly didn't go to bootcamp, but i had a healthy energy drink thing, and put myself in the car and went there. there was a bit too much cheese in my dinner, but i am doing well this morning.. i had porridge and an orange juice.. so far so good. (except there is a fantastic shop called yoghurt land where you have an iceream machine with every flavour, and then oreo biscuits crushed plus another 50 choices and you make your own. i've been there twice. both times they've given me cracking headaches, so it must be full of sugar, so no MORE!) love you xoxo

  4. @Hayley: Thanks. 🙂 I actually love early starts. I get up before Lacey every morning. I love the quiet of the morning.

@CP: Oh people can be so rude. I hope today is better for you. People are so opinionated when it comes to weddings. Breathe. Breathe. Breathe.

@Kelly: Oh I hope you don't have an annoying bird that we used to have outside our room. It made me insane during my pregnancy. I can't remember what they're called…

@CottonSocks: Oh, I'm the same. I convince myself I deserve it. Argh. I deserve to nurture my body. That's what I deserve!

@Sis: That sounds dangerous, and delicious. You look so good when you train. 😉

  5. hey telle,

good for you getting up and walking when you could have just as easily popped lacey in bed and stayed toasty!

    rowe x

  6. I'm so proud of you!!!! Well done! And awesome job on the walking. I think Lacey will appreciate it too. I've been making an effort to make sure the kids are being more active too (not just me) and getting them involved riding their bikes (and pushing them in the pram). Hoping to set them up with good life habits.

I'm going well!! Lost 1.1kg on Tuesday at my weekly meeting. Walked for 50 minutes this morning (the 6am was a hard enough wakeup!), and said hello to the neighbourhood ducks and horses.

  7. Well done for resisting the chockie urge, I think there must be something in the air at the moment, I raided The Coaches chockie stash the other day (oops). But, I do have another alternative when the sweet urge hits, I grab a pitted date. I don't know if it's any better for you but at least it falls into the fruit category, doesn't it ??

  8. Thanks so much for your honesty. I could right a post like this dozens of times 😛
Challenging this weight loss thing. Here, I are going ok, not wonderful, but each day I am more conscience of the choices I am making because I deserve a healthy body! xox
