Sunshine On My Shoulders…

H

ow does that song go? Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy? I remember my Big Sis and I would stay at my Aunt & Uncles and they’d play that on the piano, and we’d sing it. And we’d also sing that song about rocking in the tree tops… That’s what you get when you’re sister is a born entertainer. You end up singing, dancing and performing… when you’re not even good at it. How embarrassing. Moving on…

  1. My dad teaching me how to ride my first bike. I must have been about four years old, so my memory of most of it is sort of vague – but I do distinctly remember seeing my dad ripping around our backyard on this tiny red bmx bike, his knees up around his ears basically, and finally coming to a spectacular stop as the bike just decided it'd had enough of this fool pushing it past its boundaries!

  2. It's not sunshine on my window is it? By that band that was huge in like 1999?

I smiled today because I'm skipping school to sit in cafes with my man and sketch and write all day. He is visiting me from Canberra so I like to take advantage when he is here. I also smiled because the coffee guy at this cafe put a massive hunk of brownie on the side of my coffee 'just for me to try'. Perfect.

  3. Ah, John Denver. 'Sunshine' is one of my mum's favourite songs and Dad used to blast it on the stereo on Sunday mornings while she slept in. Nice.

  4. What made me smile? Buffy the vampire slayer watched an episode today on foxtel. Oh how I love that show, I never get sick of it!

  5. A comment from my 3 year old made me smile this morning as she always tends to do. I took her to her 'learningland' class and asked her to put her jacket on if she is cold during class. “I'm not cold mum!” she said at the same time as doing a little shiver. I told her I know she is cold as I saw her shiver…. “I'm not cold mum! My breath made me wiggle”

How could I not laugh. My girls make me laugh each day without them even trying.

  6. The one thing that made me smile today?
Well, we aren't too far into it yet, but I suppose it would be my baby waking up and wanting to snuggle. My baby is 10 so he doesn't want to snuggle too much anymore! Darn growing up!
