Spring skin!

Brought to you by Olay.OLAY2

I was driving along with Lacey yesterday, and we were talking about her new teacher that she has for a few weeks while her ‘real’ teacher takes an extended break. I asked her how old she thinks she is, and she said maybe a teenager.

We then continued the conversation, with me asking, “What makes a person look old?”

The response was just two simple things: wrinkly skin and glasses.

I have both. I think that makes me officially old.

I don’t know about you but I always think of spring as a new start. Winter is over, the hibernating is done and it’s time to get out more. You know, have a social life and see people. Do things. That stuff. To celebrate the coming of spring, and also looking after you and your skin, I’ve got a beautiful giveaway from Olay.

Olay has consolidated over 10 years of research into a complete day and night skin routine that promises to give you plumper, firmer skin with visibly less wrinkles. In just five nights, your skin renews millions of cells which helps make you look more youthful.

The Olay Regenerist Overnight Miracle prize pack includes everything you need for your skin to get spring-ready. It has the Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence, which boosts skin energy and allows it to absorb more anti-ageing products. There’s also the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream for day, and then the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Night Cream {yep, the one that does the magic while you sleep}.

I asked Olay why they’re adding an extra step {we’re so busy already, right?} They said, research showed that when you combine the Micro-Sculpting Cream with the Miracle Boost Pre-Essence, it boosts skin cell renewal by 60% and you get 50% more hydration for plumper, firmer skin and … less wrinkles. So much less, that skin can look up to 10 years younger. {i.e. worth it!}.

The night cream isn’t thick and heavy like you might imagine a night cream to be. Instead, think silky and beautiful and not heavy at all {yet it still does the work}. It’s also available at your local supermarket.

OLAY1

To be in the running, all you have to do is answer the following question {leave your answer in the comment section below}: What’s your favourite thing about Spring?

There are two prize packs up for grabs, each worth $137.97, containing the three Olay Regenerist Overnight Miracle products pictured. Find out more about them over at Priceline. One entry per person. Open to Australian residents only. Competition closes September 30th at 11:59pm.

  1. The flowers! This spring I’m looking forward to being out of hibernation with my 4 month old!! We’re excited for some sunshine 🙂

  2. Listening to the birds chirping above and bees buzzing around the new blooms. Always makes me stop look around. Gaze deeply into the skies on a sunny spring day.

  3. The shedding of clothes, no more thick bulky clothing, we also take the cover off the pool & give that a spring clean, i’m a visual person so if it looks grey & gloomy i feel the same but with the sun out i just feel so much more motivated.

  4. I love the feeling of a fresh new start that comes with Spring. The smell of the air changes and the days getting longer, making for more family time outside in the evenings ?

  5. To begin with, the longer days – there is something about coming home after a long day at work and still being able to enjoy the sun on your skin while enjoying a cold drink on the front porch. When Spring begins it helps you to enjoy the little things in life more rather than just work, sleep, repeat.

  6. My favourite thing is jonquils. They are just beautiful to look at & smell Devine. To me they are the essence of Spring. ?

  7. We have a string of celebrations that start in spring, from my son’s birthday, Father’s Day, our wedding anniversary, daughter’s birthday then husband’s birthday.

  8. I love the baby leaves that start to grow back on the trees, the pretty flowers, the beach and wearing one less layer of clothing… oh and it’s my birthday and oh we get to wear pretty dresses at the spring horse racing carnival. I know there’s just so much to love!

  9. The ability to have a day to hang out my washing and it actually dry! — It’s the little thing’s in a Mum’s life 🙂

  10. The warmth of spring is such a welcome change after the bitter cold of winter. In spring the gardens around town are magnificent too.

  11. I’m so enjoying seeing bees buzzing about in my garden. Even more so when they’re buzzing around our fruit tree blossoms and this year is showing great promise that there will be a bounty of peaches and nectarines

  12. Love is in the air during Spring! You tend to see a lot of brides getting married outdoors, *stare+swoon* and it’s a time to stop, smell the roses and be grateful for what the year has brought thus far. It’s the perfect time to do a big wardrobe sort too. I love a big spring clean – nothing better to clear your head!

  13. The sludge of winter disappears. The leaves peeking out on trees. Crocuses. Tulips and hastas. Freed of coats and boots. Birds are back. The whole world just seems lighter and more simple. Anticipation of planting garden brings buying of seeds and seedlings. Green grass. These are some of my favorite things. Oops, did I sound a bit like Julie Andrews there?

  14. My daughter celebrates her birth on the first day of spring… How could that not be my favourite thing about it?

She has a beautiful vintage poetry book page framed in her room that starts with

    “Winter days have passed away,
Spring is here, Spring is here
Let us all be bright and gay
Spring is here, Spring is here”
    Amy Eleanor Mack 1930

The poem and her bring me so much joy…

  15. The night air is my favourite thing about spring….it feels lighter and almost like there’s hope bouncing around in it. Breathe it in….yum.

  16. The floral scents that float through the air in Spring like wattle, jasmine and honeysuckle bring me so much joy. I know as soon as the first sniff the warm days will come again 🙂

  17. How the days get brighter and longer and the weather becomes warmer, seeing and smelling all the beautiful flowers, the fuzzy baby birds that start coming out of their nests following mum, that unique ‘Spring’ feeling in the air, it’s hard to describe, but it’s wonderful ☺️??

  18. My favourite thing about spring is that I can eat ice-cream without people asking why I’m eating ice cream when it’s so cold. Also that I don’t have to wear so many layers of clothing.

  19. The best thing about Spring is that my daughter stops complaining about hating winter and we get to go outside a lot more in the sun

  20. The best thing about Spring is hearing the chorus of beautiful music from the birds early in the morning as the sun is peeking through for a new day 🙂

  21. I love love love the freshness of spring – crisp morning with warmer dats, gorgeous flowers comic into life and trees showing the blossom of new growth.

  22. It’s no longer dark when you get to work, and dark on your way home. We finally get some sunlight and feel less like a vampire!

  23. Hard to pick!! Probably the feeling of wearing shorts and no shoes…..feeling the sand between my toes again (oh, and freshly shaved legs for the first time since June BAHAHAHA)

  24. I live in Townsville and we have two season – hot as hell and hot. However, when I lived in the UK, my favourite part about Spring was watching the flowers come up out of the cold hard ground. The first flowers I saw would always put a huge ‘spring’ in my step, reminding me that winter was nearly over!

  25. I love the smell of fresh mown grass, the daffodils and jonquils perfume that fills the air. The sun on my winter skin, and being able to go out side and enjoy all that is thrown at me.

  26. The green of the grass, the blue of the sky, the red of the tulips. A crunchy red apple, a stick of crunchy celery, blueberries in abundance. Waking up and feeling fresh and alive.

  27. Haha, I’m going to be really lame and say my favourite thing about Spring is my birthday! But that’s not just because I’m self-obsessed, but because it means the weather is warming up – but it’s not too hot – can’t do too hot…. The flowers are all out – in particular Freesias! My mums favourite flowers and her yard is full of wild ones – which we picked last week so now my house smells like them and they are amazing! They are also a countdown to my birthday as they have already done their dash and disappeared by then (which isn’t a good thing) but for 3 or so weeks everything smells divine! We generally have a picnic or lunch for my birthday , so it’s nice to be out in the beautiful weather with my family eating cake! What’s better than that???? ?

  28. The earlier sunrises, I can go walking before work and this makes me feel so much happier and energised to tackle my day 🙂

  29. Flicking the switch for the solar heating on our pool, and starting our swim season. Lazing by the pool with my own concoction of ‘slushie’ (adults only), and socialising the night away

  30. Spring means sunnier blue sky days so I don’t have to put the heater and my jeans, woolly jumpers on any more!!

  31. As we are currently travelling around Australia in our camper “Myrtle” my favourite thing at the beginning of Spring is all the new baby animals in the paddocks, all the gorgeous flowers starting to pop their heads up and the smell of the fresh air while sitting out looking at the stars of an evening.

  32. The morning sunshine. The dark cold mornings of winter give way to days where the sun starts to rise earlier and earlier making you want to get out of bed and start the day.

  33. I love the beautiful floral scents that is a spring signature. It’s such a wonderful way to welcome the warmer weather!

  34. spring makes my heart sing
    less clothes more zing
    flowers, and buzzy bees
    new growth on the trees
    fresh fruit on the vines
just in time for summer wines
    sunshine without the heat
happy faces i get to meet

  35. I love the smell of barbeques, the colourful flowers blooming and the sun kissing my cheeks to say “hello” for the first time in months!

  36. I love the way Hobart starts to warm up again and I can start wearing a lot less clothes and I also love all the trees breaking into blossom, the colours look amazing after winter.

  37. Not so much a thing now that my girls are past the baby stage but when they were babies my favourite thing about spring was seeing their chubby little legs in shorts or a skirt after they’d been covered up all winter long….ah I miss that!!

  38. Smooth legs (I had to shave). Sun on my skin, weather behaves! Colourful flowers, all birds sing. Winter is gone! Much to love about Spring!

  39. I like that exercising outdoors is easier. Instead of trying to beat the sunset home and walking in the dark, but Spring is not yet too hot for being out. And very pretty swallows swoop around me on my walks

  40. The motivation to eat healthier and exercise because you know summer is on its way! No more hibernating in oversized jumpers!

  41. The warmer weather, the blooming flowers and the beautiful spring aromas (jasmine fragrance especially) are a few of my favourite things 🙂

  42. Shedding the Winter woolies, feeling free and easy, light as a feather, doing it all and more because it’s warm and wonderful.

  43. Call me crazy but my favourite thing about Spring is Spring cleaning. For me it’s out with the old, things that have gone untouched for twelve months, then in with the new. And for me this means new clothes!!!!!!!

  44. Summer provides those dreamy days,
    Sun-kissed by radiant rays,
The outdoors beckons, providing more fun,
Barbecues & Picnics and we all have won!

  45. The outdoor pool here in Launceston opens – it’s my happy place! As someone who really dislikes exercise, and struggles to do the minimum required, swimming laps has been my saviour. Not a fan of humid indoor pools, I rejoice in the crisp Spring water and air here and…just keep swimming, for my health and most importantly – my sanity! 11 sleeps and counting until it opens!

  47. the feeling of warmth on the skin, the kids playing outside every afternoon and randomly watching my first ever peach tree flower ready to fruit, annnnd wearing sandals 😉

  48. My favourite thing about Spring is taking my two toddlers to explore all the playgrounds and parks near and far!

  49. Getting to train for roller derby outside in the beautiful spring air, and not in a badly vented rink, where we can smell each others sweat!

  50. I love that nights get warmer, and the days get sunnier. Flowers bloom, and we can get outside more. We can head to parks, cafes with playgrounds, and even the beach again. We can wave goodbye for now to the cold, and wave hello to summer who is waiting just around the corner.

  51. Cherry Blossoms! I love seeing the cherry blossoms in full bloom. They look like fluffy fairy floss trees.

  52. Spring…the season of awakening, of fresh starts. Time to re-energise, re-evaluate and make plans to learn and grow.

  53. The warmth in the air, the sun on your skin, longer days, warmer nights, salads and mangoes! I heart Spring

  54. Jasmine. It’s blossom and fragrance ?
Just outside my bedroom window, which will now be cracked open after the long, cold winter. ???????

  55. My favourite thing about Spring is that the days are longer with more sunshine. I love being out in the fresh air. The sunshine makes me happier and I just want to go out and get things done!

  56. My favorite thing about spring is the verdant haze that the baby buds give everything. After looking at white and brown for so long, that green twinkle of fresh life starts to creep in ever so cautiously and then BAM! new leaves everywhere!

  57. Best thing about Spring is the sunrises a little earlier and sets a little later meaning more time to squeeze in me time (training) and then fun in the sun with the kiddies. Plus it’s not yet too hot in NQ.

  58. Spring means no more cold and flu season so I finally get a break from cleaning up after sick children and it’s great to go outside and not be too cold or too hot.

  59. Spring means that the weather is warming up and I’m inspired to pull out the chainsaw to remove the winter shrubbery from my legs, put on a frock and expose my pasty skin to some natural vitamin D.

  60. Spring to me is a time of new life in the garden and in particular for me a time of healing and rejuvination of spirit, after long months of surgery and chemotherapy.

  61. The trees have leaves again, the grass is growing and it is daylight when I get home from work so I can be outside. Oh and of course the overnight temps are way above zero.

  62. The sunshine, the sunflowers, getting closer to summer, the longer days, the fun in the sun, weekends exploring, the wildflowers, daily doses of vitamin d, sandcastle making at the beach, the smell of sunscreen, kids sandy feet in the house, picnics at the park, daisy chains, bike rides, planting seedlings, smiling, laughing and having fun! 🙂

  63. The smell, noises and feel! Spring smells fresh, it’s not humid, it’s crisp and you can start to hear the birds more and all the bugs at night. Hands down the best season!

  64. Spring is my favourite, the mornings are brighter, the smells are amazing & clothes are soft & flowing. ?? But one of my girls is very allergic to pollen & turns into this sneezing, running itchy eyes machine ? But it’s still my favourite!!! ??

  65. The sense of wonder I feel as all the blossoms come out and a blank canvas is turned into a magnificent and colourful tapestry- I love taking my doggies for their morning walk and being surprised by the little changes every morning ???

  66. Spring is my favourite season. I love walking all year round, but seeing the beautiful flowers and smelling the fresh air after that spring rain is the most refreshing feeling. It’s definitely the ‘prettiest’ season, oh, and my birthday is in Spring. Yay!

  67. My favourite thing about Spring is life. The rainbow of flowers come out, the birds sing and the bare trees start to wake up. People venture out of their homes to explore rather than just going to work or school or run errands. Everything feels a little warmer and smells a little more beautiful and you can sense the happiness in the world.

  68. I have always loved Spring. I remember as a child the first weekend in Spring my Dad would ask me to help plant flowers with him. Spring has always held that feeling of fresh starts and the anticipation of a Summer holiday just around the corner. It has always been my favorite season.

  69. Cherry blossoms! The bare twigs transforming fresh new growth, emerging from winters hibernation (aren’t we all?) right before your eyes into perfect perfumed pinkness. Epitome of Spring. ???

  70. Firstly because spring is my birthday season, secondly because daylight savings – I’m slightly more inclined to exercise when there is daylight when I get home from work, and lastly because I love the sunny mild days, where you can wear a dress but it’s not stinking hot so you don’t chafe as much #curvylife

  71. My favourite part of spring other than all the beautiful blossoms and new blooms is the the lighter and brighter clothes, pretty, happy colours and fresh pedicures, with pretty shoes, and nothing beats spring sunshine!

  72. Out comes the sun cream! That familiar childhood smell that reminds me of all those visits to the beach, playing in the pool at our grandparents house and school swimming carnivals! I love that those memories are repeated just like it with my kids. Good times ?☀️?

  73. I love the beautiful blossoms the birds happily twittering away in the trees the spring sun on my face longer walks with my dogs…..the change to lighter prettier clothes and the smell of freshly cut grass ?

  74. The longer nights and all the amazing cherry blossoms on the trees….love the sunshine and a little bit warmer weather as well.

  75. Warm days and cool nights
    Flowers in bloom
    Colourful and bright
    A spring in my step
    Shrugging off that winter gloom.

  76. seeing all the new baby birds happily chirping it a time for new beginnings and like a butterfly I cant wait to get out of my winter cocoon and get some spring in my steps,
