Splish Splash.

G

ood morning friends. I hope you had the loveliest of weekends. I did.

We spent Sunday lazing about. I made a makeshift, toddler size pool from a storage tub which made one little toddler size person {that would be Lacey} very, very happy.

She splashed about, soaked her Mama {that would be me} and played happily. Can’t you see that utter bliss in her little face?

Hubby is back to work today, and I am too later on this week and so the year begins. We’re back into our normal routines and hustle bustle.

I thought I’d bring back the high & low weekend review posts. So tell me what your high {best part} is from the weekend, and then your low {worst part}.

And quickly before I tell you mine I just want to say that if you’re looking for something to read this month, my girlfriend Zoe has just released her new book today, Playing The Field. I hear it’s juicy and good reading. Grab a copy today. I will be.

My high from the weekend: Brunch with girlfriends at Bills. Apart from being totally in love with anything Bill Granger touches/creates/cooks it was great spending time with the girls. We’ve been friends for almost ten years now *gasp* and although our lives have taken us to different locations and down different paths in our lives, being back together is was like nothing had changed at all. ♥

My low from the weekend: Honestly, I don’t know. I guess knowing that Hubby was back at work today and that was hanging over our heads. We’ve had such a great break though.

What about you my friend? What’s your high and low? Tell me the comments below.

I’ll announce the winner of the giveaway this afternoon for those wondering. xx

  1. My high was spending yesterday morning wandering around in Ikea. Apparently, Swedish furniture excites me beyond belief!

And my low was probably Saturday night when I had to be somewhere that I didn't really want to be. Would've much rather stayed home in bed watching bad TV. Ha. Is that sad?

Glad to hear you had such a good weekend. xx

  2. My high was definately brunch at bills and then I even got to go out to dinner as well…..Amazing!!I love that we always have stuff to talk about, there really is never a shortage of conversation.
However my low was that I was not feeling so well, I hate being sick..
Enjoy your last 2 days of holidays..
    xx

  3. My high was getting engaged on Friday afternoon (if that counts as part of the weekend) but my low was a friend telling me her mum has breast cancer. Will have to do something special for her I think.
Extra low – not getting enough sleep and being super hungover for work today after celebrating too much last night.

I love that pic of Lacey playing in the water!

  4. High – finishing an assignment, buying fresh slowers, moments with family… Low – working like a demon to finsh the assignment and the usual, not enough sleep!

  5. Hi Chantelle, your weekend sounds delightful. I too, am a lover of all things bill!

High: the buzz of packing, farewell parties and last catch ups…

Low: The reality that we're actually moving. Today. To a place we know no-one! Missing my family already…

    xxLou

  6. Low – finally stepping into reality and figuring out that building a new home is not possible. Probably ever.

High – getting over that fact and *really* letting it go. Having fun with my husband and kids!!

  7. What a beautiful photo!

My high was receiving some emails last night with some really lovely feedback on some things I've been working on.

Low? Just felt tired all weekend. Hubby got up with our toddler on Sat morning so that I could have a sleep in but, wouldn't you know it – I couldn't sleep. Not happy about that!

  8. High = Sitting with a cuppa gloating in self satisfaction at my immaculately clean house, complete with folded washing, and labelled school gear

Low = Scrubbing, dusting, mopping, washing, folding and labelling for 3 hours

PS, Cracker of a pic, Lacey looks like she's having a ball!!

  9. My weekend high was the fact that I got to relax and take it easy all weekend with no commitments. The only low was that Daddy BuBbles couldn't share it with us because he had uni lectures.

  10. My high: That our home (which is going on the market) scrubbed up to be all sparkly and clean ready for photos 🙂

My low: Knowing that my beautiful brother, sis inlaw and neice were moving to Victoria early Monday morning 🙁

  11. I was stuck in an airport for hours on Friday so went and grabbed a book – guess which one? Quite enjoyed it…

  12. My high was bills with you guys too… It was so nice to just sit and talk girls stuff and have Lacey being all sweet and gorgeous! Of course eating bills ricotta hotcakes is always good – oh how I love them!

I don't really have a low cause I'm in Sydney shooting and I love everything about that! Rowe x
