Say yes

I’m more anxious than I’ve ever been. My stomach is swirling with fear and worry. This is new. This is scary. This is outside my comfort zone.

Last night I cried streaks into my fake tan {not a good look}. I’m going to miss my little girl and my big man. It’s going to be hard to be so far away from them, in a whole different country. I didn’t think about that when I embarked on this adventure. I forgot to think about how real it would be. I already miss them. Lots.

A friend told me to say yes more. To embrace life. She made me watch the movie ‘Yes man’. So I did. It’s scary to say yes. But I did, and I will.

I know the excitement will kick in, and I’ll embrace it. I know there will be a moment when I’ll smile and think ‘I’m doing it! Mama’s going on a big adventure.’

I’ll get there. But for now I’m scared and a bit sad, and anxious.

————————————-

I’m off to America today to attend Blogher in San Diego. Writing that makes me excited, so I know it’s only a matter of time before this anxiety passes {I hope}. I’ll share pictures of my travels and stories too, I’m sure. Think safe flying thoughts for me. Please. x

Chantelle, it is the most incredible, liberating feeling in the world. Powerful – full of power. I am ME. Best thing ever. And my goodness am I going to be the best mother ever when I get home!

I got tattooed at LA Ink today, and remembered to get your hubby a memento. I will give it to you tomorrow in San Diego SCHWING.

Have a fantastic time and while your heart will probably ache the whole time you are away imagine just how good those pick up hugs and kisses will be.
Embrace your “me” time and rock it. You're ace xx

  15. defiantly embrace this opportunity and do everything you can to have a great time. There are so many of us who would love to be in your position, so please don't wish you were home when so many of us wish we were in your shoes.

Saying yes can open lots of doors and every meeting you have with people will bring something to your life, people discount that too often.

I would miss my babies too but I also know that writing makes me incredibly happy and I know my kids would think making Mummy HAPPY would be so cool!
    ENJOY!!

ps I hope the fake tan tear steaks didn't last and you are smiling brightly now!

  16. awwwww I'm just catching up on your blogher posts! they are amazing and you did a great job leaving little lacey and I bet she had a ball! I'd love to go next year and have to gain the courage to leave the kids at home. I've got a year to work on it!

can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip but it looks amazing
