Bellie is a-mah-zing. I sent her a photo that I recently had taken of my little Lacey by Rowe, and she sketched it within a week. Talented and speedy.

It’s so pretty. I can’t wait to frame it and put it up. It’s even better in real life.

  1. That is amazing, so life like and accurate! I want them done of my babes!

    Not sure yet what this Mother's Day will entail as that is totally up to Hubby and the Kids. I would like to think it involves a cooked breakfast and some mummy time – maybe a manicure or some sort of pampering. Even a movie or something, and then a nice family time in the arvo, maybe at the park.

    I am hoping to spend mother's day similar to last weekend, doing nothing at all except enjoying my son's company (we might hide away in his new tepee again.. we'll see what the weekend brings).

    Mother's Day is always special our family.

    This year, my husband, daughter and myself are doing the Mothers Day Classic walk around the Domain to raise money and awareness for the National Breast Cancer foundation.

    Then, the whole family is meeting up for yum cha out in the hills. Lots of spoiling my Mum while sipping green tea and fighting over the last dumplings.

    Perfect way to spend mothers day.

    This Mother's Day I am planning to sleep in for as long as my boys will let me before heading out for a playground morning tea picnic followed by lunch with my extended family.

  7. Every mothers day I visit my mother for breakfast and then have a long picnic lunch in a park with my mother and grandmother in-laws. The group grows every year and there are now lots of little ones hanging around. xxx

    I am not totally sure how I will be spending my very first mothers day, but it will be with my amazing husband and little girl. Anything else is a bonus!

  11. This year will be celebrating having my daughter here with me to celebrate. After such a traumatic start to the year and the fear of losing her I just want to soak up the time with loving her and being loved by her. As always look forward to spending time with my beautiful mum too.

    I'm spending Mother's Day HOPEFULLY tasting Eggs Benedict for the first time in my quite obviously sheltered life, whilst no doubt sharing it with my beautiful kids and spending a little bit of time in Spotlight!

    I am having brekky in bed for MY mothers day treat. Crumbs and the fab five in bed all together. It is the yummiest brekky: all those smooches! Delicious!

  14. hmm let me think, oh I know, mum and I are tiling the splashback in the kitchen, then I have to take hudson to a birthday party..yes on Mothers day! Who does that..then i am going to come home and try to put my feet up with a wine or 5…no rest for the wicked!

  15. I'm hoping that this Mothers' Day my little girl will be recovered from her pneumonia and my hubby will be home from his work travels.

    Hopefully we can spend a blissful day together in our new backyard, eating, laughing and creating a few memories.

    Oh and hopefully they'll be a sleep-in or a siesta thrown in for good measure!

    We don't have any set plans for mother's day this year, and while I know it's meant to be about the Mama, I think I'd like to spend it just being a mum, maybe at Sea World or somewhere fun.

    This Mothers Day will be my 3rd.
    My first I was pregnant with my 1st baby
    My second I was a proud mum of 1
    My third I am mum to a 17 month old and 4 months pregnant – extra reason to celebrate I say!
    We will spend the day surrounded by family.

    This year, I'm having lunch as my house with my mum and sister, then having 'my' mothers day on Sunday night when my step son gets home from his mums and my husband home from work.

    ps; i would be very excited to win this prize as my sister is having her baby shower soon…. : )

  21. For my first Mother's Day I'm going to be spending the day with my blue eyed boys (hubby and Cam) having a picnic, taking photos, carving our initials into a tree and enjoying our beautiful life <3

    This mothers day we are getting together with all my family – bro & sisters & mum/dad/mother in law and kids a plenty and having an amazing long lunch cooked by my brother. Cannot wait.

  23. Im celebrating Mothers day tonight actually as my kids are going away for the weekend (back home to the country where their daddy grew up) and so i will be at home alone on mothers day(sleep in and lesuirely day doing stuff for ME!)
    I cant complain as the kids only get to see their country relatives twice a year
    we are having a special dinner tonight and I get to open my pressies YAY!

  26. This year, I will spend my mothers day a lot differently to any other before or any other to come in the future.

    This Sunday, we, my brothers family and mine, are taking my mothers ashes to her favourite spot and scattering them off a pier and over the ocean.

    I can't think of a more appropriate way to spend Mothers day this time around.

  27. Oooh – I want one!

    It will definitely begin with brekky in bed, the kids jumping on the bed, spilling my orange juice and opening handmade pressies and cards. Then we'll head to mass, where I'll no doubt spend the whole of it telling them to be quiet and sit down and finish off with…oh, I don't know. Whatever happens. It's never very planned! But it should be good anyway. 😉

  31. Well i would love a sleep in, but don't imagine that will happen! I will spend the day with my lovely girls. If the weather is nice we will go for a walk down the beach and stop for a coffee/fluffy on the way home- happy day.

    This mothers day my husband and children are taking me out for breakfast to a favourite little cafe. They have also invited my Mum and MIL so we get to spend the day with those we love the most!

  34. We are going to the Wiggles concert! On mothers day! We will also have lovely breakfast at my favourite cafe. I will also get to open the present my little boy has made at kindy. Its biscuits! and he's really trying not to open them before sunday xx

    Mothers Day this year i'm undecided. my partner is off to a concert with females friends from school on Saturday night and apparently they are all staying here the night.

    So Plan 1 is pack myself and my kids and go to my mums for the night and come home Sunday after his female friends have left.

    Or plan 2 is to stay home and hope his friends leave early.

    Although this year my daughters preschool had a mothers day stall so it will be my first present she chose alone without any guide i'm so excited to see what she choose.

  36. Bellie is an amazing artist, it was all that practise she had in our youth sketching lovely pictures of me… (speaking of evil meanies she may show you some day.)
    bUt I don't yet have one of my babes, so enter me!!!
    This mother's day I've been promised presents of pink slippers and commanded to eat bacon and eggs, despite having asked for croissants, by my bossy and imaginative 4 yo and I've already been given a half eaten pansy plant by my adorable 17mo boy. I'm hoping my ma will come for lunch but do not yet know… it will mean cleaning the bathroom, bleargh.

    Mothers day for me… dragged I mean wake up singing out of bed at 7 am for our first ever AUSKICK! So I will walk through the thick oozy mud (in my new spotted gum boots wink wink nod nod DH), down the wet sloppy grass to watch my two little men get wet and let testosterone fly! I will then be treated to a lovely lunch… Hot chips anyone?! Then with my mum and sister (with my tribe too) to celebrate the specialness all mothers bring. x

    This mothers day will be my third.. I was pregnant with Izzy for the first, she was 8 months old for the second and this year Izzy is two and I have another bun in the oven :o)

    I am not sure how we will be spending my spesh day… hopefully lazing around as a family, brekky in bed and a few little suprises thrown in for good measure?!? xx

    This will be my first Mother's Day. I have been waiting for this day pretty much since I was a little girl…it's all I've ever really wanted to do – and now finally ( after a very long journey)- I am!

    So how will I be spending Mothers Day ..what I DO know is that we will be having a family lunch with the family…all the mums from 3 generations…Great Grandma..Grandma..and Mum..which is very special!!…there will also be first time mums…and a mum to be there too…so what better way to celebrate the magic and the memories that comes with motherhood…than by swapping stories,traditions,and tips…its always alot of fun….and great to see that we have come a long way…but then in the same breath…have not changed much at all.
    Apart from all of this….hubby might have something in store…me hopes? ; ) x

    This Mothers Day I will be waking up early to get my 4yo Archer ready for his first ever soccer game. I will watch his game holding 2yo Miss Jorjette back from running onto the field and stealing the ball, then they will watch Mummy play her game and hopefully she will NOT fall over or get injured ;OP
    We will then deliver our homemade cupcakes to Nanna and Gramma, then (hopefully) I get to sloth on the couch a little with some medicinal wine!!

    Where will I be spending Mother's Day? Not sure to be really. No plans have been made. I feel though that it will start with me not getting out of bed until late. I'd be happy with that.

  52. Mother's Day will be quiet for us this year. Hubby is working in the morning, so I'll be playing with my toddlers and dealing with twin morning sickness as per usual! I'm sure DH will make me a yummy dinner though 😀

  54. I will be spending the day at home with my beautiful 5yo boy, awaiting the impending arrival of our much much longed for baby.
    Hubby will be at work, racking up lots of overtime, so we can all bask in the glow of our new baby when they arrive.

  57. It will be my first Mother's Day as a Mum this Sunday, and the ten year anniversary of losing my own Mother.

    My stepmother and I will be taking my angel baby to the Royal Picnic at Moore Park, a fundraising event for the Royal Hospital for Women where he was born.

    Mothers Day for us this Sunday will be filled with love, laughter, loss and hope for the future.

  58. What gorgeous sketches! Mother's Day is turning more and more into a Christmas Day for us … trying to fit everything in!
    So, hopefully I will get to eat breakfast and enjoy my morning coffee in peace and without having to share with my 2yo! Then up to my mum's for an early lunch and then back to the Botanic Gardens late afternoon for afternoon tea in the park with MIL. Then take away for tea, as we never get it and I go on strike Mother's Day xx

    This Mother's Day will be my first one as a single-mum so I'm not entirely sure what will happen yet. What I do know though is that as long as I have my children with me I am sure to have a wonderful day. My daughter has made some Mother's Day gifts at Pre-Primary so I am looking forward to receiving her handmade treasure because I know that they have been made with a lot of love.

    On Saturday they are taking Daddy shopping for ingredients… then Sunday morning after my sleep in we will have a delicious brunch, that I hear involves salmon and poached eggs, in our little courtyard garden… So sitting on our rustically flaking old white table and chairs, beside the climbing roses and vines 🙂

  74. Mother's day this year is spending the day with my favourite ladies – my grandmother and mother. Looking forward to cooking and sharing a meal with them and my two girls. Will visit my mother-in-law in the evening. My favourite part of the day will be receiving the gifts my children have made and bought at the mother's day stall – what a wonderful day.

  76. Mothers Day to me is about spending time being a mother and relishing in the company of my children, so I am going to spend every waking minute with my kids and enjoying them and giving them total THEM time!

    I am also going to go over to my Mum's house and give her all the love that she deserves, as for her Mother's Day is about being with her children!

My mother lives in another state, and my mother in law is on holidays, so this year we will be spending the morning together as our own little family, before my husband leaves for a business trip. I am looking forward to pancakes for breakfast, and lots of cuddles with my gorgeous little girl. I am most excited, because I know she's made me something this year too, as she now goes to day care. I have not peeked – I have left it in her bag and I am sooo excited to see what it is on Sunday morning.

    How am I spending Mother's Day? Well, I went and bought some of my favourite foods, so the little man and I will have a picnic in the park and feed the ducks. It's just the two of us now, so no one to do the spoiling for me, but the hugs and kisses from the little man are enough to make me realise that even just being a mum is special in itself.

  81. We are having a BBQ breakfast at a beautiful duck pond park just near the beach. After that not much, maybe a picnic lunch at a local botanic garden and spending time with my hubby and baby.

    I am dying to see what special gift my son made at daycare. I'm hoping for macaroni stuck on cardboard and spray painted gold.
