May: The month that was…

Do you ever look back at a month and wonder how you jam-packed it all in? That’s what May was like for me. It feels like a couple of months rolled into one… and it’s only looking back at these photos that I realised that it all did indeed happen over the past 31 days. I flew to Sydney twice, celebrated my sister’s baby shower, did a road trip and a whole heap of everyday stuff in between. May, you’ve been fun… but bring on June {my birthday month!}. Here’s how May went down:

And now for a little review, the best and worst of the month:

BEST: My trips down to Sydney were so nice. Seeing family. Eating REALLY good dumplings. Hanging out. Being inspired. I just loved it.

WORST: Dropping a cup of pee on myself. Hey, it could be worse, but it definitely wasn’t fun.

What about you? What’s your best and worst of the month of May?

  1. I could do with a Sydney trip, envy!

BEST: ridiculous trip to Dreamworld with my little dude. Bringing my blog back from near death after eighteen months and discovering I really enjoy blogging again.

WORST: foolishly going on spinning aroundy ride at Dreamworld with litttle dude and then doing chunder afterwards into garden bed. Have not vommed in public since he was resident in my uterus some 7.5 years ago.

  2. Best: Seeing my husband for the first time in a month. (#armylife)

Worst: Having to buy new luggage because my suitcase tore on the trip there so I had to get new luggage before I could go home. Also, my Uncle dying this past weekend.

  3. BEST: Our trip to Texas to watch my son, Iraq War Veteran with TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) graduate from UTSA, Magna Cum Laude with Bachelor of Science at 39 years old, and I hooted for him very loudly, just as I did for him in High School, (he heard and knew it was me, duh), visiting and playing with his wife and 3 kids, at the beach, in the river, and at their lovely home. Even a getaway for me and my hubby of 41 years to the beach. Couldn’t ask for a more lovely vacation. Except; for the

WORST: On our way to the beach, we had a flat tire. A lovely angel stopped and changed it for us. The spare was flat (UGH) so we called the insurance and got help, an hour later. Messed up our time on the beach for that day. When leaving TX to come home, we always spend the night in Oklahoma. Driving through TX to get there was very hot and humid and, of course the air conditioning, which had been freezing us out, now decides not to work. We finally get to OK and discover there is a tornado warning while we are driving and we see these ominous clouds and my phone warns us to take cover. Conveniently, there was a Rest Area and we pulled over. There were many stopped to take cover and the clouds were ominous. After near darkness, thinking the clouds were coming down, and whipping wind and rain, we finally got back on the road. We were passed by Storm Chasers in the Dominator, going our way. We wondered if it was smart to be following them. This was the early afternoon after the morning when the F-5 had hit Moore, OK. Spent the night in the next town only to discover our route had been closed through Oklahoma City, so, the next day, we took a rainy stormy detour back to KCMO. Rained all the way home. And it has rained nearly everyday we have been home. Ready for a new month.

  4. Oh no! Feel so sorry for you! Can’t believe you dropped a cup of pee on yourself, that would have been horrible!!
