12. Get a Mimco handbag.

When we came back from holidays I was having a little bit of shopping withdrawals. I had gift cards burning holes in my pockets. So after buying the food essentials for the household we decided to have a look at the shops whilst Lacey slept in the Baby Bjorn.
I headed straight to the Mimco section at David Jones. Handbag heaven.
I don’t know why I am really that hung up on Mimco bags. I guess I’ve always just had el cheapo handbags that last me a month or two (I’m not the kindest handbag owner around!) and then fall apart. Proof of this is at the airport on the way out on Christmas Day, my handbag just broke. It snapped. So I had to go and buy a new one to get me through the flight.
It ended up being the daggiest, ugliest bag I’d ever seen. It cost me $20 but it got me through the trip and then some. I guess the major problem is that quite often my handbag weighs more than Lacey does. I just keep throwing things in and carrying it along. I’m the person you go to when you need … well basically anything. Chances are, it’s in my bag.
It was a toss up between two bags. I was in love with the shiny goodness of this one bag. It was beautiful and grown up and was calling my name.
This is the clutch version of it. Realistically though, I knew with my rough and tumble style those lovely, shiny circles of silver would be scratched and icky in no time. So the practical side won.
So here she is. She was originally $450. It had $375 scrawled in red on the tag. So I thought, I’ll pay that. Took it to the register and the saleslady says: $262 please. Even Hubby agreed: You should definitely get that.
So, get it, I did.

I actually woke at 3am and of course, the Mama in me, thought OMG is she okay? I went in there and made sure she wasn’t suffocated by the blankets and such.
She had done a 180 in the cot and was uncovered. I crept back out and went straight back to bed. x
