I see you.

Brought to you by Instant Scratch-Its Crosswords.Hey you.

I see you. I see you at the supermarket, in the car, in the street. I see you.

I don’t see the lunch boxes you’ve packed, the drink bottles you’ve filled, the uniforms you’ve readied, the dinners you made, the millionth dishwasher you’ve unpacked, the kilometres you’ve travelled getting them from A to B and back again, the stories you’ve read over and over again or the negotiations that you’ve taken part in day after day.

I don’t see the cuddles you’ve given, the twenty million pats you’ve given just to get them off to sleep, and the tantrums you’ve endured.

I don’t see the immense love in your heart, or the pride you carry with you always.

I know it though, because you’re in the club. This non-existent club that we become part of when we become a mum. We’re their everything {shout-out to dads too!}. We do it every day. Every single day.

We all love our kids, but there is that little bit of joy when school goes back. Do you agree? I feel like we can breathe again. Routine has returned. I look forward to school holidays – I do. I love the freedom, the fun, the good times and the happy kids… but I also love when it’s over, because I’m ready.

I’m ready for normal. To be able to get work done. And secretly, I love being able to have a little me-time too. Like going to the toilet alone, reading a magazine, eating a sandwich with two hands, all the little things.

I don’t know about you – but I love a little me-time. I’ll get a cheeky massage, make a beautiful lunch and eat it in silence, watch one of my favourite shows, or anything that allows me to just be and to fill my cup a little.

I’ve teamed up with Instant Scratch-Its Crosswords to celebrate the back to school routine and the return of a little me-time. Scratch-Its Crosswords are peaceful, fun, and often lucky {I just won $18 on mine, I’m saving to buy myself an island}, so you can scratch away over a cup of tea and see if you can get an island too. One person will win a beautiful me-time pack filled with T2 tea, a beautiful Glasshouse candle, A Lush bath bomb, face masks, a Robert Gordon tea cup, hand cream and three Scratch-Its Crosswords all put together in a beautiful gift basket, so you can take a little time for you, PLUS a $250 Ella Bache gift voucher. It’s all about you baby!

To win, all you have to do is head over to Instagram and share a photo of how you’re spending your me-time. Add the hashtag #FMSlovesMeTime and make sure your Instagram profile is public, if not just upload your photo to the comments below.

Competition opens today, and closes March 16th 2017 at 11:59pm. One entry per person per day. Open to Australian residents only. The winner will be the most creative entry as selected by Fat Mum Slim.

  1. When school goes back me-time becomes even harder to find as I have to teach my daughters distance education at home on our cattle station …

  2. Ohh I love my family but MAN I love me time too. Back before kids I travelled heaps and adored just wandering for hours exporing new places. I’ve learnt dragging little kids around on these walks is not enjoyable for them or me. So whilst in Singapore I left the hubby and kids by the pool and pottered around the streets to my hearts content. It was simply divine! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/76f81d6269c2a6078a0750666b1c9a935bb7cebc829b387c9ea3dbcc990e47f1.jpg

The “Me” time i treasure the most is when i get to spend time with my Mum.
She is an amazing Nanna to my kids and i rely on her a lot but it is so special and rare when we get to spend time together without the kids and we can really connect again as Mother and Daughter and Best friends.
On this night we went out for dinner and drinks and i love this photo so much ?
