Holiday Heaven.

I

t was probably hard to tell, but last week I wasn’t around. I went on holiday.

We drove almost ten hours up the coast to a little town near Byron Bay to spend time with hubby’s family. We drove. The whole ten hours. With a child that we don’t usually take anywhere that requires being in the car for more than half an hour. The furthest we’ve ever been is Ikea… so Byron was huge. More on that tomorrow though.

We had the best time. I honestly haven’t felt this relaxed since before having Lacey. I feel good. We ate the most delicious food. We watched the sun set. We slept through the sun rising {perfect}. I walked along the beach {okay, I only managed to do that once – I was in holiday mode}. I bought out my inner nerd and played Nintendo DS and managed to complete two whole games {Professor Layton and Super Mario Bros – Dork, anyone?} We visited good friends. Lacey ate truckloads of mango. A whole heap of avocado. She danced each night as the sun went down {as you can see above}. We were surrounded by animals, and a river and a snake even made an appearance {get your mind out of the gutter}. Ick.

I’ve never seen Lacey so happy. There was even a day when she didn’t cry even once. Do you know how much of a miracle that is with a toddler? It’s their main form of communication, you know? We had the best time ever.

So what have you been up to my friend? How was your weekend?

A huge thank you to those that have responded to my survey. If you haven’t you can do so
here.

  1. Sounds like a lovely break!

I'm on holidays as well, so I've totally lost track of what day it actually is! Saturday/Sunday was super relaxing. I went on a shopping spree, had lots of nanna naps, went to the beach, ate icecream, and spent lots of time with friends. All in all, a perfect couple of days.

  2. Sounds like a great break!

My weekend was filled with nothingness… in a good way. We had some friends over and sat around chatting, took our little girl to the pool, and that was about it. It was so lovely.

  3. Sounds wonderful! Totally get bringing out the inner nerd part – this Xmas/NY I've been getting a really sore thumb…. from playing Super Mario on my Wii! It's brilliant!

  4. Welcome home Telle.

Glad you enjoyed your holiday, and that you all survived the car ride!

shopping + beach + nanna naps sound awesome <3

  5. Welcome home! I can't believe how much Lacey seems to have grown recently. She looks so much more toddler-ish all of a sudden. She's absolutely gorgeous, have I told you?

Holidays continue for me for a couple more weeks (the joy of being a childless teacher). I had such a rotten end to 2009 that I just needed the whole world to stop, so I say quite proudly that we have done NOTHING at all the last few weeks. It's been exactly what I needed.

  7. My mother lives in Murwillumbah. I love that part of the country. Mainly (I guess) because it still rains there.

Lacey's to cute in that pic. *grabby hands*

  8. Look at Lacey's lovely hair! I bet you'll end up being one of those mums that cannot cut their daughter's hair.

  9. Hey there! This is kind of off topic but I need some advice from an established blog. Is it very hard to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick. I’m thinking about setting up my own but I’m not sure where to start. Do you have any points or suggestions? Appreciate it This is my website online payday loan

  10. Thanks for your write-up on the travel industry. I might also like contribute that if you’re a senior contemplating traveling, it’s absolutely imperative that you buy traveling insurance for older persons. When traveling, elderly people are at biggest risk of having a medical emergency. Obtaining right insurance package for the age group can protect your health and provide peace of mind.
