Hello October

OCTOBER

Hello you, and hello October. If I was standing right near you, I might give you a pinch and a punch. 🙂

I love October, mostly because it’s the month that I got married and it takes me back down memory lane, and I also love the weather. I love that it’s not yet hot {unbearably hot!} and it’s no longer cold. I get to wear dresses, and things just feel hopeful.

This October though, it’s epic around here. My brother is getting hitched, we’re taking a road-trip with the kids {which we’ve never done before!}, Hubby and I are celebrating 10 years of marriage with a weekend in Sydney, I’m flying to Adelaide for a workshop AND my favourite cousin is getting married unexpectedly {it’s a long story, but they’ve been in love forever, and never wanted to get married… but now are working overseas and need to be married… so an impromptu wedding is happening!} so I’m heading to Sydney for that wedding too. I am so excited, and also slightly exhausted just thinking about everything.

Over the past few weeks I’ve been looking after myself better, as part of The Good Life Gang. It’s been harder with travel etc, but I am liking making myself a priority and being inspired by people in the group. It’s such a nice space.

I thought I’d make a wallpaper for my phone, and for you if you wanted it too.

  1. Wow! What an exciting month and that wallpaper is so pretty! I’m looking forward to getting stuck into my studies, growing my new business, a weekend on the coast with our friends and a 10k fun run with the hubster at the end of the month. I love having a whole month to look forward to – the possibilities are endless! x

  2. Gorgeous wallpaper!
I’m looking forward to my birthday today! Yay
    Not cooking dinner! Yay!
    Cake! Yay
I’m looking forward to you coming to Adelaide!!!!
I have a camera course booked, scared…will I fully understand fancy unew jargon?
Loads of walks in the hills, sun shining down and ending the month with a family outing to the zoo at night.
    I love October!

  3. Love your blog an the cute wallpaper. I’m in Queensland where the weather is amazing at the moment. Love October as it tends to be my clam before the madness of Christmas.

  4. OMG just had an ingenious thought. You should buy an amazing summer wardrobe and I’ll buy an amazing winter wardrobe and then we’ll do swopsies every 6months!!
I don’t know why I just thought of that?? Ha! Here we are just saying goodbye to summer (we’re currently having the last-min annual ‘Indian Summer’ before the cold finally wins) and we’re breaking out the knee high boots and scarves. Mmmm cosy ?

  5. I plan on speding as much time as I can with my girls at the beach and taking pictures (the Olympus lunch reignited my passion so a big thankyou Chantelle!!) and after over 3 yrs of working weekends, hubby will now have every 2nd one off!

  6. What a busy month ahead you have, Chantelle!! Good busy. Wonderful celebrations. But busy nevertheless.
I’m also loving the Good Life Gang – what an incredible bunch of wonderfully motivating and inspirational folk!!

I also love October – I’m gradually getting over the worst of my springtime allergies, the days are getting longer and daylight savings starts this weekend (sorry Qld) and its warm without being too hot just yet!!

But I also get out and ride my bike A LOT (!!) in October on an effort to raise money for research into childhood cancer (Great Cycle Challenge) and I love it. I get to witness some pretty incredible sunrises and sunsets from my bike, work on my health and fitness and love life thanks to an incredible endorphin high. Though by the end of the month I. Can. Barely. Sit. Down. *ouch* he he

Still it’s for a GREAT cause and after a personal fight with cancer (melanoma) in January/February this year, I more determined to help these pretty incredible little humans as much as I can!!
