Happy Father’s Day.

A

s Father’s Day is on Sunday I just wanted to do a little piece for Shane. Lacey is so lucky to have him as her Dad. She loves him to pieces, and he’s so in love with her. It’s really the sweetest thing ever.

We’re both lucky, Lacey and I. We couldn’t ask for a better man in our lives. He loves us more than I could have ever hoped for. Shane is so caring. I sometimes forget how lucky I truly am. Shane works shift work, as I’ve spoken about before. Usually he cooks dinner at night for us. On the nights that he is working he will pre-cook meals for us so that we are sorted. He’s that kinda guy. He love us, and we love him so much back. Oh, and he gives the best hugs out.

A few weeks ago I ‘interviewed’ Shane to ask him about fatherhood. Here is what he had to say:

Has your life changed since becoming a dad?
Massively. You think you couldn’t love anything this much. You’d do anything for your child just to make sure they’re safe, and happy.

What do you wish you’d been told about fatherhood?
I wish I’d been told to put extra deposits into the sleep bank.

What do you love most about becoming a dad?
I love everytime my daughter gives me a cheeky little grin.

Three words I’d use to describe me.
Loving. Strong. Loyal.

Three words {I hope} Lacey will use to describe me when she’s old enough.
Best. Dad. Ever.

The words I love to hear Lacey say are:
There aren’t that many to choose from, but I love when she says Mum, Mum, Mum, Daddy and Ish – meaning fish.

If you weren’t a dad, you’d…
Still be trying to have kids.

What do you want most for Lacey?
I want her to be happy and healthy. And confident in who she is.

What advice would you give new dads?
Do whatever works.

We ♥ you Daddy/Hubby. xx

  1. Absolutely agree with his last comment Chantelle.
So true! People will give you every idea under the sun about what to do with your baby, but at the end of the day (or sometimes the middle of the night), you have to do whatever works, even if it's not the 'correct' thing to do.

  2. Awww he sounds like such a wonderful daddy! He has a lot in common with my shift working Shayne who cooks dinner for us (and lets me sleep in when he has been at work all night!)
