Happy Birthing Day.

It’s been the most brilliant year of my life. It’s been hard work, but good hard work.

It’s so hard to put into words without sounding ungrateful for my beautiful little girls existence.

I should perhaps start out by saying that I am eternally grateful for Lacey. I love her to little bits and pieces. She lights up my life every day, all the time.

Raising a child is hard work. The first year is hard. I have helped raise many children with being a Nanny. It just doesn’t compare. Yeah, it prepared me a little. But I had no idea. The night after night of wakefulness. The constant worry and concern. It’s constant and I know it is with me for life. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I want to have a little being to worry about. I will worry about her when she’s old enough to worry about herself… and probably old enough to worry about her own little offspring. I will always worry.

It’s funny you know. You go through each day putting someone else before yourself. What will she eat? When will she eat? Is she warm? Does she have a fever? Is her nose running? Oh boy, is she sick? Is she cold? Does she need a cardigan? Is this area safe for her to play?
