unfortunately im a frequent gambler. i placed my bets last night.
i think my biggest win was $40 or something on a horsey.
$400 on the poker machines [i got the maxi thingy]. mind you i blew 20 on that machine before it rewarded me.
i love melbourne cup though. and have had a few winners over time.
As a fellow nanny, 3pm is probably the most inconvenient time to start work on Melbourne Cup!
I put $5 on Alcopop. This is rare as I never ever gamble because I always always always lose!! Fingers crossed for today.

I used to be the biggest advocate of Melbourne Cup – I used to organise the work social event and even went to the races a few times – however it's a sad day for me now for personal reasons. I hope one day I get back in the swing of things, it's a great aussie institution, even if you don't bet. But I love a flutter every now and again and the sweeps is all about being Aussie I think!
I am a Melbourne girl so this special Tuesday is usually all about BBQs, Champers, and good weather (hopefully) having a bet is usually mandatory. Today for me it will be all about a sick little one and dr visits:( – Hopefully we can get to our BBQ this arvo though. Good Luck if your Betting today.

I used to work as a strapper, so I am good at picking horses if I can see them in the marshalling yard and pick their mood, butI have already laid my bets – so cross your fingers!!
My friend and I had a flutter today – won ourselves $200 for our kitty!
It was only earlier this year that I was “taught” how it all actually works – at the Ladies Day Races. We won ourselves almost $200 then too..
I think I'll stick to special occasions – ie Melbourne Cup/Ladies Day – I don't like to lose! 😉 And it's only by sheer dumb luck that we've won as much as we have!

I've always been told that gambling is bad (by my parents who had a gambler in the family) so I always feel like I'm doing something awfully naughty when I bet on something! But I always go on the sound of the name of something as random as that. Which is probably why I never win anything! 😛
