Get It While It’s Hot. White Hot.

Do you ever look around your home and get suddenly tired with the decor? I do. And I don’t know if it’s because I’m a Gemini (it’s always so much easier to blame things on star signs than take it on ourselves!) or because I’m just me… but I am incapable of planning and dreaming but want the room changed now. Or as my Uncle says: Immediately, if not sooner.
I know one thing for sure. Having Lacey means that no projects get done. No spring cleaning gets done. Everything takes eleventy billion times longer than it used to. I remember when I used to decide to paint the house one day. The next day I’d start painting, and the day after that it was done.
Now if I wouldn’t even contemplate painting a single wall, let alone a room. It would just take forever and there are so many more things on my to do list. I’m sure once her attention span is more than ten minutes I’ll get things done. Someone let me know when she’s due to hit that milestone.
Talking about attention spans! Back to the topic I intended to write about. The Eames Replica chairs. One day last week I looked at my dining set and decided I didn’t like it. Well not all of it. Just the chairs. They’re nice chairs. Modern. Trendy. Not offensive. I saw the Eames Replica chairs and wanted them instead. I wanted to downsize the setting from 6 seats, to 4. (Heck, when do we have time for dinner parties anyway?).
The chairs are reduced down to $99. Well, they were until last Sunday. So now they’re back up to full price. I do wonder if I should have jumped in, got them and then contemplated it all later.
Who knows. All I know is that it will be something else next week. Probably the lounge. Or the clothesline.
How do you deal with the impulsive decorator within? Or is it just me that suffers from this ailment?

  1. ooh no, you're definitely not alone there! I can't seem to leave anything alone. I just get something 'perfect' and I feel the need to change it all again. At least we can recognise it 🙂
