Four blogs that I can’t get enough of

The blog world seems so noisy of late. Lots of talk about being successful, working with brands, sponsored posts, giveaways and professional blogging. I think this is exciting. I know the blogging world is going places, as are the bloggers within it. It can only be a good thing. I know I’m guilty of contributing to the noise. I’ll put my hand up and admit that.

Sometimes though, I just love escaping to real, authentic & simple blogging. By that I mean blogging without brands. Just beautiful words, pictures and sharing. No disclosures. No pimping things. Just beautiful blogging. I find it beyond inspiring… and can’t get enough. These are the four blogs that inspire me to be better, blog better and to just enjoy…

Saks In The City
Meet Sakina. Isn’t she beyond stunning? I check Saks In The City a few times a day, dying for a new post. I can’t get enough. Sakina blogs about fashion, particularly plus-size fashion, and is the most photogenic being ever. She blogs in French and English as well.

Salvation Jane

Get ready for a colour & inspiration explosion. Jane Hall {oh yes, the Jane Hall!} is quite the decorator and lover of colour. On her blog, Salvation Jane, you’ll find decorating ideas, furniture makeovers and beautifully written posts about improving her home, and exploring design ideas and more. I love that Jane stalks the hard rubbish, because I have to admit… I’ve been known to do the same too. Joy!

The Beetle Shack

Emily is the most beautiful mama and wife, and I just love the way she blogs. I stumbled across her last week and it was love at first sight. I can’t wait to pour a cup of green tea {or seven} and go through the archives. Bliss.

Baby Mac

I love this blog. I’ve loved it for a while, but it’s been a well-kept little secret. Beth is refreshingly honest, takes beautiful pics and lives in the most gorgeous house ever. I’ve also met Beth and she’s so lovable and cool {feels like an understatement}. She took a wee blogging break last week, and I had withdrawals. So sad!

Enjoy these beautiful blogs, just like I do. x

  1. Thank you for the blogs. I'm always up for a new, good read.

You also touchd on a good point. I have to admit, that there are some big time bloggers out there (Mostly US and one in Europe), who I used to love. I have stopped reading their blog. Still good content, even though way to much sponsored posts. Like every week.

II feel kind of guilty for feeling like that. It is great when you are successful with your blog and even make some money or get things send to you. And yet there are some blog authors who change…I can't really describe it. They make it unpleasant to read the posts.

I hope I kind of made my point clear 🙂

  2. Thanks for sharing. I love hearing about what other bloggers are reading and being inspired by. I heard Jane talking about her blog on The Circle a few weeks back, so was very tempted to take a peek. And I agree – just fab! Loving BabyMac's About Me page too! 🙂

  3. Thank you so much for sharing these amazing reads. There is nothing more I love than when one shares another fantastic blog – it's like a secret recipe that has been handed over to create smiles and inspiration.

I agree with you though that the Blogging world is becoming really noisy – but if it is done tastefully, it is refreshing. A juggling act really isn't it?

    Thanks again X

  4. Love all of these blogs, especially Baby Mac's! Beth has done exactly what I've been dreaming about. Getting out of inner-city Sydney and heading for the hills. I want space. I want chickens. I want to not have to look into each and every one of my neighbours side windows (and more now that they're renovating). I am adding Beth's lovely blog to my Bloglovin' list. Thanks for showing me the way!

  5. Thanks so much for this Chantelle! I love discovering new blogs.
I've been a fan of Beth's for a while now. Definitely a hidden gem! She has the most amazing house, and writes with such heart. I don't think she realises just how talented she is. 🙂

I look forward to adding some new blogs to my list! x

  6. Your post has come just at the right time. I'm working on my fledgling blog and have found my mind increasingly cluttered with all the “noise” as you call it. I initially wanted to try writing for the pure, unadulterated passion and pleasure of creating, writing and sharing. Thanks for reminding me of that. BTW, love Salvation Jane. Very beautiful.

  7. I agree hun there is so much talk and blogging is becoming huge which is fantastic but i think the smaller blogs which some are just as fabulous are getting lost in the crowd
great post! the little people are important too

    xxx

  8. Dear Chantelle and readers,
I am really thrilled at being included on this list, and I am loving this new blog world. You are all so welcoming and supportive and I am really enjoying reading about you all.
Thanks SO much, Jane Hall xxx

  9. I love this post so much. I think your term of “noisy” blogging is spot on. As much as I appreciate the commercial side of blogging and hey I am a comp whore. I do prefer a blog in the pre nuffy days. They feel fresh if that makes sense.

  10. I went to visit all four of your friends : )

Someday, if you feel like linking to the interview I did with you, well, I wouldn't be mad ; )

I get so super tired of all the sponsored stuff. Blah. Blah. Blah!

  11. Thankyou Chantelle for sharing these fabulous blogs. I've added them all to my favourites because I really enjoyed reading them too. They're honest and sometimes raw and I can relate to all of them. Jane Hall's blog… I'm so grateful to be able to catch up on Jane Hall… I've seriously missed her since she left neighbours. Weird Hey?!
