Feel The Fear.

W

henever we go on holidays, we always chase the sunshine which means always heading north. Melbourne has been on my to-do list for years. My Ma and I talked about spending a weekend shopping there, Hubby and I talked about exploring there… but we never managed to get around to it. Eventually Ma went without me {while I tended to our teeny newborn at home}. Hubby went down on another occasion for work. And then my best friend moved down to Melbourne. It was like it was always meant to be, but never was.

Until today. Today I get to fly down to Melbourne. It’s a quick visit, and I won’t get to see anything… but still… I’m excited. It’s a day full of firsts. I’ll be doing a quick presentation for my new job too. I have butterflies jiggling and causing chaos in my belly. I’m nervous.
I know that firsts are good though. There’s something wonderful about feeling the fear and doing it anyway {especially when that doesn’t involved jumping out of planes or swimming with crocodiles}. That sense of achievement afterwards, it’s a bit of a warm, fuzzy feeling.

  1. Have the best time! Melbourne is such a great city. Very different to Sydney, but very similar at the same time… if that makes any sense.

Good luck for the presentation too. I'm sure you'll smash it! xx

  2. Good luck, hon! You'll be fine.

I'm off to Melb in a couple of weeks with a girlfriend for 3 nights. I'm so excited. I'm meeting up with a few blogging pals. (And it will be my first trip away from my kids – in 8.5yrs!)

Which also brings me a to a first: meeting a blogger. I met Megan from Writing Out Loud a little while back, and I was nervous and so excited, and I'd certainly never met someone I only knew online before! It was great. I'll be catching up with Megan again this time too, so I'm completely relaxed about the whole thing!

Hope Melb was great, and you at least get to see your BFF. x
