Easy peasy rocky road slice

Although I felt like I was a disaster at the cake-making for my sister’s party, it was this one slice that was a real star. I heard people talking as I mingled around the room, “Is there any more of that rocky road slice thing?” or “Oh my god! Did you taste that chocolate thing with the snakes in it?”

The lovely Nadine shared the recipe with me on Facebook, and it seems to be one that she knows off by heart {correct me if I’m wrong Nadine}. It’s simple, fun and a real hit!

Ingredients
1 tin of condensed milk
1 packet Nestle milk melts
1/4 cup coconut
1/2 cup chopped marshmallows
1 cup of chopped up jelly snakes

Method
♥ Put condensed milk and chocolate melts in a saucepan on low heat. Stir until melted and combined. Remove from heat to cool slightly.
♥ Add in coconut, marshmallows and chopped jelly snakes. Stir until combined.
♥ Place in a square dish {I used 20cm by 20cm} lined with baking paper. Place in fridge overnight, or until set.
♥ Once set chop into small squares.

Enjoy!

  1. Yummo! I must try this recipe. It seems so much more simple then the one i use.

    4 cups Nestle milk melts
    80g Copha
    3 cups Rice bubbles
    100g Mini Marshmallow
Hundreds & thousands to sprinkle on top.

    Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  2. That sounds so YUMMY Chantelle!

I'd love to share my favorite rocky road recipe, one my brother gave me the idea for. (I like to think rocky road is a specialty of mine) haha.

    750-800g Carbury milk chocolate
    10 Arnotts milk coffee biscuits
    100g Mini marshmallows
    2 rolls of ROLOS
    1/4 cup coconut(optional)

Put cadbury chocolate in a glass bowl on a saucepan with a little water on low heat. Stir until melted and combined. Remove from heat to cool slightly.

Add in coconut, marshmallows and Rolos. Stir until combined.

Place in a square dish 20x20cm lined with baking paper or gladwrap. Place in fridge until set.

Cut into any size you prefer.

I've made so many different type of rocky road, My favorite one of all time being a honeycomb one. 🙂

    Dani xx

Ps- Thank you for the reminder, I really need to start putting my recipes on my blog.

  3. Oooo I love rocky road Chantelle, you've exposed my weakness ;o)
This recipe looks delish! I usually use chopped up raspberry lollies and add some crushed peanuts. But the coconut is a nice addition I'll be adding next time and jelly snakes is genius, as the raspberries are sometimes hard to come by :o) xo

  4. Hello Chantelle,
Here's a little comment from a 40-year old Dutch girl. Just wanted to say your blog is amazing, love to read it (and do so for about 1,5 years). Admire your honesty, there are too many blogs in which everybody is happy all the time. Honesty rules (just read bloggers without make-up again). Thanks for sharing 6,1% of your life!
    Love, big hug,
