Drama-rama

We’re here! We’re finally here.

Flying without a toddler is VERY different to flying with a toddler. We had a lovely flight, watching movies, and being treated like superstars {which we are but only to our kids!}. We got to visit the lounge before our flight and were offered champagne before our flight took off. My anxiety eased in the taxi and was gone by the time we were up in the air.

Once we arrived in America it was an adventurous day to say the least. I’ll let Sarah tell the story {as it’s her story} but basically she got taken away at Customs, we missed our flight and waiting in lines for longer than I’d ever want to {being jetlagged and stinky!}. Wearing a maxi dress I draw attention at the screening point. I heard a woman call for female assistance and then I was approached and asked to spread my legs. I told the woman as she patted me down, “I’m not packing, I’m just fat.” She giggled and let me through.

Our make-up flight was a teeny plane {my worst fear} but by the time we were on board, I was over it so I sucked it up for the 20 minute flight. It had been a long day.

We knew the only way we could make the day better was the get some retail therapy so we quickly showered and asked our driver {I know!} to wait for us. We then headed to the Mexico border for a spot of shopping, and then home to get changed and off to our first party hosted by Vicks.

I ran into a handful of bloggers that I met earlier this year, we ate sushi and drank sex on the beach.

And then we headed home to sleep. Eventually.

I’m off to shower and get ready for the first day of the conference. xx
