Drained.

The weather is so hot over here right now. The nights are so warm, it’s hard to sleep despite being so exhausted. The heat is draining every last droplet of energy out of me.
We were swimming at 7:30 this morning and then again at 4pm. It’s the only way to stay cool. Well, that and passing out in front of the fan. It’s predicted to be like this tomorrow… I haven’t looked beyond that.
As those of us from Australia already know (if you don’t… HELLO wake up!) it’s a long weekend. We celebrate Australia Day. Just looking around the web Australia Day seems to be about many different things: cockroach racing, cow dung throwing, BBQ’s, piss-ups, cricket. To see how Australian you are take this quiz. You better get question six right, or Hubby will be after you.
To me it’s about being grateful for this beautiful country we live in. I’ve always believed we’re the lucky ones. xx

  1. oh I’m hearing you ‘telle! It’s ick-ily-sick-ily-disgusting hot!

Those pics are gorgeous – isn’t there something so beautiful about a man, bub and a baby bjorn!?

  2. well, i hate to say it but i got number 6 wrong, does that mean I am not allowed back? i had never heard of it but isn’t blue hhubby’s middle name?

i can’t wait for the warm weather and Australia is definitely the lucky country and I can’t wait to be back in it – for good!

  3. Some of those questions were hilarious!! I got 9/10!

As for the weather, welcome to my world! Drink lots and lots of water.xx

P.s Australians are def. the lucky ones. 🙂 Enjoy the long weekend.

  4. Argh, tell me about the heat!!! its killing me, and ive heard its gonna be tops of 40…thats pretty extreme.

btw, i got question 6 right! and im suprised i got the bunyip question right too (reminds me of primary school days when i coloured in the so called bunyip)

Anyways, Happy Australia day to you 🙂

  5. Well I certainly wouldn’t want it to be that hot right now, but here in Tennessee (USA) it’s been anywhere from 4 degrees F to 30 degrees F. I guess that would be anywhere from -10 degrees C to 0 degrees C…roughly!! I’m not sure about my conversions there. Anyways it’s been really cold. Does it ever get very cool where your at?

  6. Liss – I have to completely agree. I love when Hubby has Lacey in the Baby Bjorn. It’s very sweet. The babies seem to like it too.

Simone – We’ll have to cancel your flights. Sorry. 😛 No Hubby’s Dad’s name is Bluey. To be honest though, before I met Shane I had no idea about it all.

Gwen – Sheesh. I didn’t think about that. I don’t know how you survive. You have air con, right?

    HD – 40? Noooooooooooooooooo!

Penny – Brrrr! That’s cold. We don’t ever get really cold here. I guess perhaps 16 C during a really cold Winters Day. Definitely no snow here, anyway!

  7. well, for not being from Australia, I’m pretty proud of myself because some of those questions didn’t even make sense to me. But somehow, I got 4 out of 10 right and wahoo, that’s good enough to make me smile! Have a great holiday!
