Day Six.

I’m back. Everything got wiped from my notebook and now it’s like brand new. I am glad that I saved everything on to my external hard drive so it’s all safe and sound. It’s just a matter of downloading everything back on and getting it back to normal.

Lacey is sleeping a little bit crappy again. She is waking almost every 1.5 hours. It’s exhausting me right now, I don’t know how I worked and survived. I know I better get used to it because in two weeks I’ll be doing it all again.

Yesterday I went and got a manicure and pedicure. It was delicious. As I was putting my shoes back on at the salon, I looked down and realised something. I was wearing two different shoes. I had put on two different shoes in the morning. That’s a first, and hopefully a last.

Today we went to visit a girlfriend who has a beautiful little daughter. Lacey had a nice play in her room with all her toys. Afterwards I took Hubby and Lacey out to lunch at a shmancy seafood restaurant. Half way through dinner I looked down in my top. Lacey had smuggled a little mattress from her friend’s dollhouse down my top. I don’t know what’s more disturbing – that my daughter is already stealing things, or that I didn’t notice for 2 hours that I had a mattress down my top.

I’m grateful for my beautiful, reliable notebook. I missed it being in working order and am glad to have it home and in my lap again. xx

  1. LOL!! Cant believe Lacey managed to drop that mattress down your top!

Oh I so hear you about the odd shoes – I wore odd shoes to a party once and no one has ever let me forget it. They were even different height heels and I still didnt notice! I blame PhD tiredness and stress – even more mind numbing than caring for a bub..

Hope you get some sleep to help you out with those everyday things 😉

  2. Pretty clear the sleep deprivation is taking its toll, what with the odd shoes and the mattress smuggling!

Hope that little one gets her sleeping mojo back soon!

  3. 🙁 I’m sorry she’s not sleeping well. I’m sure you’ve thought about it, but is there something going on there that was missing on vaca? Is there something she’s not liking at home that makes her restless? It just seems weird that she sleeps bad at one place and sleeps through the night at home.

I’m glad that your laptop is working well again! Technology is great, until it breaks!

  4. That is so funny!! I probably wouldn’t have noticed it either. My little bit sleeps fairly well at night once you get her to sleep. It’s actually getting her to go to sleep that’s the job!! She is too excited about everything to want to close her pretty little eyes!! Hope you get a good night’s sleep soon!!

  5. Amy – It’s nice to know I’m not the only one. 😛

Skye – I think you just go into automatic and get on with life, sleep deprived and all, and then when these things happen you realise how much it is really getting to you. She only woke twice last night.

Diana – She’s always been a bad sleeper… I really need to stop feeding her at night but I don’t like hearing her cry.

Penny – Aren’t they little sponges at the moment? Lacey is so much fun, so cheeky and just loves hanging out with us. 🙂

  6. Hilarious! Sometimes tiredness does strange things to Mummies and at least you can say that your hubby didn’t notice either!!

Hope Lacey starts sleeping right again soon!

  7. I think its hysterical that you didn’t know!

When my daughter was little (she’s almost 17 -yikes where did that time go?) she had a habit of opening any drawer or cabinet that was in her reach – as soon as she could walk.

She’s have all these bags over her shoulder’s and at the time, I assumed they were stuffed with her toys and such. Until I realized I had no more teaspoons. And 1/2 of my canned goods on the bottom shelf of my pantry were gone!

After she went to sleep, I ended up dumping out all of the bags and found the contents of half of my silverware drawer and half of my pantry canned goods!

    She still loves bags too!

    Great story that you shared!

  8. Jo – You’re right, Hubby didn’t notice, but he had a darn good laugh when I fished it out over lunch!

Biz – Hilarious little story. If I start smuggling whitegoods without being aware… then I might start to worry. 😛

  9. Cheeky Lacey!

I hear you on the sleep deprevation. I had chocolate topping on my icecream last night and when I changed Liam’s nappy at 5am this morning I realised he had chocolate topping all over his white sleep suit. How did I not notice that before? Poor kid.

I’m glad your ‘puter is now fixed!

  10. I guess when you’re that cute you can probably get away with sticky fingers.

I wonder what it was about the mattress as opposed to the other more interesting and pretty items in the dollhouse that caught her eye.
