Current location: Nothing much doing

Having a 5 year old can be quite fun, well aside from the daily drama queen antics, it’s quite entertaining. Going from the toddler years, to the kid years is a big change. My favourite bit is the conversations that pop up.

On Sunday Lacey and I were home alone, so we each sat on a lounge in the sun, Lacey crossing her legs like only a kid would. “Mum,” she said, “How do you relax?”

I smirked. A smirk so big that I could hardly answer. How does she come up with this stuff? “Well, I like to relax with quiet and do nothing, I guess. Why do you ask?”

“Kris {her teacher} asked me the other day,” she replied.

“And what did you say?” I always get a bit worried when teachers ask questions, not at the questions but at the very honest answers that kids seem to give.

“I said that you like to relax on your computer.”

Phew. I laughed. Lacey must think I do a lot of relaxing.

After spending my pregnancy so far on the go and without little rest at all. I’ve been to Singapore, the Whitsundays, and Sydney {twice}. I’ve hardly slept. I haven’t slowed down, and now I’ve decided that it’s time to chillax. Lacey likes to regularly tell us, “You guys need to chillax!”

So that I will.

I’m not good at doing nothing. I never have been. But I’m going to endeavour to do a little less, put my feet up, let Hubby do all the cooking/cleaning/parenting {OK, I’m kidding on that part}, and just take more things off my plate. If possible.

How do you relax?

  1. Yes take time for you and rest as much as you can. Enjoy being with your adorable family. I am one of those people that cannot rest much either ‘there is always something that need my attention’. I try to take a little time each day. x

  2. I’m too tired to do much now so lots of nice snoozing, a little bit of reading and a lot of daydreaming about the bub!

  3. with a good book, mind you its been ages since I have read one 😉 And yeah take it a little bit easy cause soon you are going to have a gorgeous baby to run after!

  4. When my son was in 1st grade his teacher asked him what I did for fun {it was for a school project} he said that I liked to cook, clean and iron. Haha. So I guess that I am still having loads of the same kind of fun..except ironing… not so much anymore 🙂

  5. I watch TV, read the odd magazine, do some craft type projects.
I am a massive TV addict. TV and a funky cross stitch (think Emily Peacock not pastels, violets and teddies) with a coffee are my idea of a good evening.
I also love the beach, and since I joined a gym again late last year I am really enjoying that too.

  6. She’s on first name terms with her teacher, Kris is pretty relaxed. If you ever want tips on doing very little/relaxing I consider myself to be an expert

  7. Oh, definitely take some time to relax! When we get home i’ll be booking in a few pedicures before the baby arrives so that I feel nice and relaxed! Drawing helps me relax a bit, but only when I can think of something to draw!

  8. You’re not doing nothing…you’re making a human! Enjoy your chillaxin’ and enjoy your 5 year old. My “baby” is 15 now and I sure miss my 5 year old.

  9. I like to garden, craft, and sew. I don’t get a chance to do much, but making the garden an primary this year. What I do most, is sit and write and take pictures,, sitting in the garden watching birds is very relaxing.

  10. to totally relax, i love to sit on my verandah with my puppies and a coffee in the morning. Or i either read, crochet or surf the net. Something that doesnt take brain power 🙂

To have fun while relaxing, i like to go for a run or go to the gym.

I cant seem to log in any more under my name….so im posting as guest….
