Cheesy Time.

O

ne of the perks of blogging {apart from meeting great people like your fancy selves} is being sent goodies to try. Last week a bundle of cheese arrived for us to sample. And hey, who doesn’t love cheese?

Hubby was very impressed because he loves cheese as a snack. I’m impressed because usually for afternoon tea for the kids at work I do a platter of cheese, crackers and fruit… and these cracker cuts mean I don’t have to waste five precious minutes slicing and dicing cheese.
And you should be impressed because Mainland are giving away a $50 gift voucher to spend in any Coles store {within Australia, sorry my foreign friends}. That takes a big chunk off your weekly shopping bill. We’re happy campers all round.
So leave a comment below to enter. Just tell me the last time you ate cheese {and if you’ve never eaten cheese in your life… just say so!}.
Good luck. xx
*Entries close lunchtime this Sunday. I’ll announce the winner next Monday.

  1. Yum, I love Cheese! And Mainland is my favourite!
Last cheese was last night – parmesan on top of our chicken, bacon and mushroom pasta, yummo!!

  2. I loved cheese, but dairy isn't my friend, sadly. so I know the last time I ate cheese was a year, three months and a day ago. except for the odd bit of hidden cheese when out to eat. but usually i eat around it if I can!

  3. I ate cheese last night 🙂 I too love mainland cheese although when the budgets tight we have to buy the crumbly yucky homebrand. Last night was mainland though 🙂

  4. I had a cheese platter shared with my girlfriends when out for lunch yesterday – delicious mix of crackers, three cheeses and some divine fruit relish. Yum!

  5. Im the same as Peta, dairy and I dont get along very well.

Last week I did have a toasted turkey and cracked bush pepper cheese sandwich and it was delicious!!

  6. Oh god. My whole family would love this prize. Hubby comes home from work and snacks on it and so Oliver joins in on the act as well. We could not survive without our cheese.

I wish I got freebies like you do. haa

  7. Mmm yummo I love cheese! Although I am just a plain cheese gal-I don't eat all the 'fancy dancy' cheeses!
Last time I ate cheese was a tiny nibble of my lovely sons stack of cheese this morning to get him to eat it!(I have to fold his cheese slice in quarters and give it to him as a stack!)I am trying to resist having cheese on EVERYTHING because I am trying oh so hard to lose weight!

  8. I ate the melted Coon off the George Foreman (grill) after making some wraps for the kiddies. Oh what I wouldn't do to have some decent cheese to myself, and that doesn't come in the form of 'left over from kids meals'…..

  9. yum cheeeesssseeeeee!
last time i had cheese was last night on my tacos…
but since youve mentioned maybe ill go have some right now 🙂
    xx

  10. We go through a block a week!!

My boys and i had grilled cheese and tomato toasties for lunch and i have just finished making a yummy cheesy lasagne for dinner!!

    :o)

  11. Oh yum! I love cheese.

I confess I had a chunk of Mersey Valley cheese last night while preparing dinner. It was gooood!!

  12. I just had a potato for lunch, smothered in melted cheese.

I've never been a big cheese fan til recently, but it's so yummy! xx

  13. I adore CHEESE, yes I said adore…The last cheese experience I had however was about 5 minutes ago, when I had a slice of homebrand processed cheese to get the taste of some other undesirable morsel out of my mouth….needless to say, I am now thinking I will have some REAL cheese, to get the taste of that nasty out, and then rescue my fridge from what lurks inside…

  14. I'm a cheese addict. After I had Will DH had to bring me a wheel of brie to eat in hospital!

The last cheese I ate was some mozzarella in my pasta last nght. Yummo!

  15. Cheese is such a part of our every day lives. At any one time I have at least 5 different types in my fridge – now there is brie, tasty, ricotta, goat, processed cheddar and some dutch smoked. I find just putting a cube or two in with some cherry tomatoes in Eloise's lunchbox is very popular, yummy and healthy to boot!

  16. I last had cheese yesterday morning in my bacon and egg roll. I recently went without cheese for a VERY long time (ok about 9 months) all to keep my breastfeeding Jassy mouse happy, it was a BIG sacrifice!
Oh and you should have made the comp end on Cheese-day… sorry Tuesday LOL

  17. How funny I should read this now, my last tweet was, “If there's a cheese I don't like, I haven't met it yet. Mmmmm, cottage cheese at the mo! YUM.”

  18. Hello cheese. We have only been getting along in recent years as I have a major dairy aversion which kicked off (according to my mum) at about 10 months.

I'm a cheese fuss pot. I only like thinly sliced tasty and I need to slice it myself. But I can eat thickly sliced Jarlsberg any time. Including last night at 11pm when I ate a big chunk of it.

  19. I'm eating it now!! The kids love a bit of cheese on a water cracker, so I usually join them and have a couple – I don't get much calcium otherwise so cheese is a good option! Yum!

  20. yummmm… I love cheese… it is (i admit) a big downfall for me, as I do eat WAY TO MUCH…. but it is just so yummy…. soft, hard, spreadable… oh im getting hungery. I has spreadable on my toast his morning… and I think I might just run upstairs now and have some sliced on crackers for lunch…. naughty !

  21. Sorry to say, but the last cheese I ate was some of my daughters cheese stick yesterday! I love a good platter plate…I could live on platters…that's why I love my mum and dad's house. Good cheese, good wine and yummy nibblies like olives, mettwurst…YUM!

  22. oh you are lucky Telle! The last time I had cheese was last night for dinner on top of our tuna bake. Yum Yum Yum. I just love the stuff. Thanks for the chance!

  23. My name is BuBbles and I am a cheese addict. I last ate cheese about 20 minutes ago on a toasted cajun chicken and avocado sandwich on wholemeal. Forgive me for I have (not) sinned 🙂

Seriously though, I have cheese daily, sometimes multiple times. Breakfast usually consists of 2 slices of toast, one with promite and 2 slices of cheese on top and the other peanut butter or nutella. Lunch usually involves some kind of cheese too – tasty, brie, fetta, goats cheese, you name it!

  24. I loved cheese a little bit too much before I started weight watchers. I could probably blame it for the 45kgs I gained.

Right now I would love some Brie.
I would kill for some brie.
I'm not allowed to have any Brie…..
    This sucks

  25. the last time I had some cheese was sunday night for dinner. My mum had a friend over and said that instead of dinner it would just be nibbles. While I might have done a little complaining, I was pretty overjoyed that I could just go to the fridge and get the big wedge of Jarlsberg out and enjoy it with some biccies. Delicious! 😀

  26. i had shaw river buffalo mozzarella last night with home grown tomatoes & basil!! so so good. drizzled with some balsamic and EVO.

oh i just realised i'm lying as i'm currently eating some ricotta with tuna! i love cheese! great blog 🙂

  27. Cheese? My best friend and my worst enemy. Why does it have to be so high in points.

Anyhoo – last eaten on Friday night: a light shaving on tomatoey pasta. Yum!

  28. Cheese? My best friend and my worst enemy. Why does it have to be so high in points.

Anyhoo – last eaten on Friday night: a light shaving on tomatoey pasta. Yum!

  29. Ah cheese, I could eat it anywhere, anytime. I just had it grated all over my vegies for dinner, yum!

  30. I just bought some of these on the weekend! I saw them on display and couldn't resist. I had a few pieces today for afternoon tea 🙂

  31. I just sat down with a cheese and mango relish sandwich, fresh bread bought this morning. Sat down with it while I caught up on blogs and what do I see?! So last time? Right now! Yummmmmmmmm!

  32. Mmmmmm cheeeeeeeese….

My husband, little girl and I love munching on cheese. The other day I did a European-style lunch platter with breads, crackers, cold meats and cheeses. Brie, Havarti and smoked were on the menu that day.

And my 17 mth old's way of saying cheese? “chzzz”

  33. My son and I made our own little mini pizzas for dinner tonight – he had grated Coon, I had feta cubes. We may or may not have eaten more while grating/cutting than actually went onto the pizzas.

  34. I love cheese! But since falling pregnant the baby seems to be lactose intolerant so all dairy is off the menu 🙁

I do try and squeeze in a little cheese now and then…I have a stash of grated pizza cheese in the freezer which I pop a handful of in some foods for the family.

I miss my cheese! And at this rate I may be saying that for some time if bubs comes out still lactose intolerant!

  35. cheese and jam on toast. heaven.
    cream cheese on anything. divine.
    grilled cheese on toast. wholesome.
    feta cheese on pizza. moreish.
    tasty cheese and jatz. scrumptious

    cheese cheese cheese cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese!

There is a big old block of mainland colby in our fridge, and its my favourite snack. apparently protein is better to snack on than carbs. trying desperately to be good!

I love every single type of cheese… except blue cheeses. i just cant bring myself to have it. probably delicious, but the whole mould thing throws me off.

  36. Yummmm, lucky!

I had cheese for lunch today. Flat bread + vegemite + grated cheese, zapped in the mic = instant delicious lunch.

    Delicious, not nutrious… but still… 😛

  37. I just ate some cheese. I made prawn and sundried pizzas for dinner covered in tasty cheese! Hubby and I inhaled one pizza and have another waiting in the fridge for lunch tomorrow – yum!

  38. My last cheesy experience was today, at the hospital, with Charlie, my 4 year old broken legged son. The hospital served up tuna mornay again for lunch and he scrunched his nose up at it. I asked him what he fancied to eat instead, and he replied “A squishy cheese sandwhidge and chippies and rocka melon.” Mate, done. So that is what we both had. And lemme tell you, a squishy cheese sarnie was just the thing we both needed. xx

  39. Erm today. And yesterday. And the day before that. I don't think a day goes by that I don't eat cheese. I don't discriminate either – I'll eat any kind of cheese 😉 Mmm, cheese.

  40. juat had some blue brie cheese with wholemeal crunchy rusk bread yummmm…about 15 min ago while watching brothers and sisters and then i get online and you have posted about cheese and a giveaway tooo..yeahh!!

  41. YUMMMMMM
Had cheese tonight on our homemade pita pizza, oh and a toasted cheese sandwich for lunch.
And am about to go to bed thinking about cheese after reading this!!!!!

  42. I had a bite of Colby at lunchtime while making Mr 3 his cheese sandwich.
I went to the supermarket tonight and bought a block of colby, cheese slices, cream cheese, feta and cheese sticks. We still have some grated cheese and some Philly I bought on sunday so at least I didn't have to get those too.
I spend a fortune on cheese for my little rats and I.

  43. I had cheese just yesterday.. at my hospital placement on grainy bread with homemade yummy soup… then some more to nibble on when I got home while dinner was cooking 🙂

  44. Don't we all love our cheese!?! I could eat it as part of every meal. I think maybe I should have been born French, they really seem to appreciate their cheese 🙂

  45. Well we had cheese toasted sandwiches (coles homebrand actually!) tonight for dinner as that's all we had that we felt like. It was so fatty and runny it burst… delicious! I could seriously live on cheese (any variety) and fresh bread, and maybe wine too, for the rest of my life. Pick me! Pick me! Kalie

  46. Cheese?!?!? When are we not eating cheese! Yesterday was jarlsberg melted over avocado on toast mmmmmm

  47. okay I love cheese and am so busted because about 10 mins ago I sliced off some yummo White Castello and put in on some jatz, totally bad I know but I cannot help it..so totally busted!
    xo

  48. There is no such thing as too much cheese – I would eat it on everything if I could! My favourite (not very healthy) lunch time snack is a toasted pizza sandwich. Cheese, pepperoni & tomato paste toasted. Delicious!

  49. We have “Cheese Day” every day at our house! Cheese is the first thing I put in my trolley when I shop. Last night I baked figs wrapped in prosciutto and then drizzled gorgonzola cream sauce over the top.

  50. I think my husband and boys would choose to be made out of cheese. Its amazing the things I can get Hubby or the kids to do if I offer cheese 🙂

… now I'm think of the great 3 cheese pasta.
