Now I’ve lived in Bondi for about 5 years, but never had a dip in the beach here. (Well once I went for a jog on the sand and we had massive waves at the time. I wasn’t quite paying attention and a big one hit me. I’m sure that doesn’t count!)
Why not? Bondi is filled with people that look like this.
Really though, it’s that the crowds at Bondi get crazy when it’s hot. There is barely moving room. The locals are all at home. Every man and his dog is trying to keep cool in the water.

I walk down at the beach early in the morning, but am out of there before everyone else arrives. It’s nice and peaceful at that time. As for swimming, there are plenty of other beaches to go to.
Yesterday we were heading for an early morning swim at one of those other beaches. We were driving past Bondi and it looked really tempting. We decided to go for a nice swim there instead. We would give Lacey her first dip in Bondi beach.
Hubby has lived in Bondi all his life, so it was quite special for Lacey to swim at his beach. The water was chilly at first, but beautiful once we were in. Lacey loved it. She’s pretty good with sand now too. I expected that she’d just put it straight in her mouth but she doesn’t. She’ll play with it, but that’s it. She’s smart, my Lacey.
My own Bondi Beach Babe + Baby
Yesterday was exciting as well because my little sister was flying home after being overseas for 3 weeks. We missed her like crazy. She is Lacey’s Godmother and boy is Lacey keen on her. She was so excited to see her. It was very sweet.
We had everyone over for dinner. We talked about the trip and looked at all the photos and videos. She had a really fun time. Of course we all got little presents too. Yay for us!
Hubby made dinner for everyone and for dessert I made Chocolate Cheesecake Brownie. What can I say, Jenny made me do it. It went down really well.
Well, I’m off to get my haircut. I have no idea what I am going to do with it. I am hoping the stylist will decide for me. Wish me luck. xx
P.S. The I.T. guy ended up calling me back, almost a week later. Typical male. 😛

Funnily enough, one of the things I always loved about Bondi was that there were always people of absolutely every shape and size there on the beach, and all seemed to just be having a good time and letting it all hang out, no worries.
Tama, on the other hand…
I’ve only ever swam once at Bondi and I made Richard come with me before 10am. Its a great beach though and how gorgeous is that photo of Lacey and Shane.
oh I am so jealous! the actual air temp here today was -15 and with the wind chill it was -35. it was painful to be outdoors so I sooooo wish I was in those pictures!

i thought yesterday was like 43degrees! at least where i was, and listening to the radio, 43!!!
i havent been to bondi for a while, just because of the crowded beach factor. also, the fact i see a bunch of girls wearing killer heels to the beach. and worst ive seen is this girl squirting tanning oil bottle all over her body and rubbing the oil all over. and what made it worst was she was trying to get the blokes attention including me by standing in the middle of the beach. grrrrrrr.
