BLOGversation: What’s in a {blog} name?

BLOGversation: What's in a {blog} name?

I can remember the exact moment I created my blog. They ask the standard things: email, password, location and then… blog name.

It’s so hard to name a blog, don’t you think? I knew I wanted to write about losing weight, so I went with Fat Mum Slim. There have been times that I wanted to change it to something more whimsical… but it’s part of who I am now.

What’s your blog name? And how did you come up with it? Ever been tempted to change it?

  1. My current blog name is “Hello my name is…” Pretty standard, but I have found that it fits my personality. 😀

  2. My blog name is my nickname! The blog is actually called ‘Katy Potaty the Cupcake Lady’ and its pretty perfectly suited to me.
My husband came up with the nickname, and it’s stuck with me ever since. He even threw Potaty in as my middle name in our wedding vows!

  3. I always love hearing the back story. When we started the blog we wanted something related to travel and travelling as a family. But nearly everyone said”gee you’re brave” when they heard our plans, or something similar with more swear words. So it made perfect sense for us to choose Gee You’re Brave for our adventures.

  4. my blog name is the name of my small business. it’s http://www.madebyida.com, and I design and sew custom handbags. “made by ida” was just kind of a project name when I started but it stuck, and now my customers love it cause it transports what it is: a small business one woman show. everything is made by me. 🙂

  5. My blog was originally an extension of my business, so I called it Scissors Paper Rock. For 4 years it was called that and it felt right. But then this year, I shut the ‘virtual’ doors to my business and then the blog’s name didn’t seem to fit anymore. I needed a new name to reflect where my life and blog was heading….so it’s now Claire Ever After. It’s still the same content {carried over to a new URL} and the same direction, just a different name 🙂 Feels right now 🙂
Fat Mum Slim just seems to be a household name now Chantelle 🙂

    xx

  6. Yes, I think it’s hard! Mine has changed 3 times in the last 2 years, basically because I went from one to two kids. Currently it’s “Pig & Dac”, my sons’ nicknames. I can’t have any more babies because I refuse to change my blog name again 🙂

  7. Mine has changed four times! I had a diary on a parenting website for years and I was known as Lime there. Then I started a blog called Boomporama, Boomp beiong a nickname for my daughter. She was joined by Chomp, so the blog name chanegd to Boomp & Chomp. I’m currently Blythe+Life… because I’m Blythe, and I write about my life 😉 Fat Mum Slim is, as Claire said, a household name and it’s a catchy one!

  8. Mine came from the internet name I’ve used since ’99. Purple was my fav colour so I started with “Violet” and then I have a deep love of body modification and especially piercings and the associated jewelry, so then got “steel”. Put the 2 together and it’s Violetsteel. 🙂 It’s now a strong part of my identity and definitely wouldn’t change it.

  9. Mine started when I got depression and I wanted to track a reaction to it. Ups and downs. So it’s StopAMoment on WordPress. I love it. Keeps me sane

  10. Totally agree…mine is Over Cups of Coffee and well, it started of because of two reasons: I’m a coffee addict and well, I love conversations over coffee. I keep thinking though that I’d like to have something more unique…but oh well, it’s been this way for almost 6 years with a domain name and all…so can’t do much there! 🙂

  11. Mine is ‘oh we do love to be…’ http://ohwedo.blogspot.co.uk because my previous blog was about moving from ‘rainy town’ to ‘seaside town’, and this one is about living in seaside town, and other stuff. Also because my post titles must always follow on from ‘oh we do love to be…’ which forces me to be a bit positive, even if I’m feeling grumpy! I love your blog, and I’m glad it’s not about dieting now.

  12. Mine was chosen in a split second, under pressure and nearly 8 years ago… Yes, sometimes I think a change would be a breath of fresh air…. But then I think, like you, and it’s kinda me… So Donna’s Diary it stays…

  13. Oh it is so hard choosing a blog name! I chose mine based off a song I loved at that time. (I still love it!) . When my blog started to take the path of a beauty/lifestyle blog I realised it wasn’t super relevant but people already knew me by that so I just went with it!

  14. Mine actually started out with a very boring name (Blogging My Books) because I never expected anyone but a few of my friends to see it. After a couple of years of getting to know fellow bloggers & readers I began to hate the dull name.

I had also started posting about other things besides books. Years ago I did something silly & when my husband asked me why I responded that it was due to my lack of “whimpulse” control. That non-existent word became part of our family vocabulary.

So when I decided to rename my blog I chose the name “Whimpulsive” because it best describes both my reading and blogging habits.

  15. I wanted my blog to be inspired by the wonder-filled moments that make life fun and fufilling. I also wanted it to reflect my quirky taste – pineapples & glitter yes please! – so that is how I came up with pineappledazzle.blogspot.com

  16. This is something I have been pondering these last few weeks. To change or not to change? I started ‘My Dear Angel’ when desperately trying to make sense of my depression. The name was chosen for two reasons. Calling on my guardian angel and I wanted to write for my daughter, Angelina, to read about me when older. I am no longer depressed, or writing for ‘therapy’ though have decided to stick with the name. As someone hearing impaired and going blind, I still want to leave stories for my Angel. I want her to know me from within, to really know me.

  17. Mine simply takes after my name, Jess Elyse. Only because, like you said, it is very hard to come up with a name. I mean, I don’t hate it, it is my name after all. I am looking/thinking of some more creative names though.

  18. I called mine Petit Pixel Design…I like how the word Pixel sounds and I’m in the process of designing personalized prints & canvases for nurseries/kids rooms via Etsy…the word Petit was meant to encompass little people/little pixels, and I like French things 🙂 A year after starting my blog I still love the name…although some people refer to me personally as “Petit Pixel” and I am far from short (or skinny…mostly due to the amount of dessert recipes I share on the blog! haha) http://www.petitpixeldesign.com/blog

  19. battlefieldchick. because i am doing graduate studies in war and society, and until the funding was cut i used to take teachers on tours of battlefields in the summer as professional development (in france – ww1 and ww2 – it was a sweet gig). it was only after that i realized the name made me sound like a current soldier, which i am not. whoops.

  20. My blog name is Jarrah Jungle because my house is full of jarrah floorboards, shelving, etc and the backyard was a jungle of shrubs, trees and weeds! My blog is about my house renovations so it just worked perfectly. Like you Iv been tempted to change it and when I move from this home into the next I wonder if I will have to change it but after 3 years its kind of part of who I am – all my memberships are now in that name and I dont think I could bring myself to change it 🙂

  21. Mine is ShoppeGirls. For the love of fashion and shopping with and for myself and my girls. Living a better lifestyle. I have thought to change it often, but like you it is apart of me. I would love to know how you all pronounce ShoppeGirls. It is actually pronounced ‘Shop Girls’ not ‘Shopeee Girls’.

  22. Mine is Prettiness and Happiness. It was so hard to come up with! I had several ideas on what I wanted to call it but after doing some Googling and trying a few names, most of the ones on my list were taken. I thought about what I wanted to put on the blog. I wanted to share with people all the pretty things I find and I always wanted to write about life. So I came up with Prettiness and Happiness. It’s a bit like but I like it 🙂

  23. I tried a number of different names before I came up with it – but I found that some of them were really common and being used already. I ended up going with Sensational Sophie as a result.

  24. My husband came up with mine. I said to him one night at dinner, “I’m thinking of starting a blog…” He said, “Sew Brunswick sounds good.” And hence the name. I wanted it to be about my sewing but also my life in general. Food, gardening, exploring Melbourne and travelling. Sew Brunswick sums it all up!

  25. Being a bit of a cockney I love a bit of rhyming slang, and that’s how the “Annoyed Thyroid” was born. I was battling thyroid cancer at the time, and so my thyroid was truly very annoyed. The blog started out as an outlet for me to share my experience of Cancer diagnosis and treatment. It’s evolved into a whole lot more – a celebration of life, food and things I love. I went through phases of wanting to change the name, but like you said, it’s just part of who I am now! If it hadn’t been for my thyroid, I would never have started blogging so that’s another thing to be thankful for!

  26. my blog name is Mostly Nonsense 365. I have a tendency to try all kinds of new things and I don’t take myself very seriously. sometimes I think about changing it [that’s the unfocused spaz in me], but I can’t think of anything else that means I Do All Kinds of Crap and Now I’m Going to Over-share. you’re welcome, world.

  27. Mine is Lariats and Lavender! I actually didn’t come up with my blog name, my wife Jen did! I wanted something feminine, yet tough and I couldn’t think of anything, so I asked her for help. I told her the above, and that I wanted something very “me” and she came up with that and it’s… PERFECT.

Lariats represents my cowgirl nature, my love of the West, when I rode a bareback bronc and bull, and my general toughness and love of nature. Lavender represents a favorite flower, scent, and color and gentleness, my feminine side.

I’ve never wanted to change this name, it’s truly perfect for me.

  28. Mine is Finding Myself Young because I started it when I was going through a divorce and felt like I was finding myself again. I also felt like I was rediscovering all the things I had loved when I was younger so added young to the end (and because I think blogs with three word names just sound like they flow better).

  29. My first blog was Singular Insanity, because I wrote about my mental health issues, my marriage break up and living as a sole parent. Recently, I stopped blogging there, because that part of my life is over and now I have a blog called A Blog of Her Own.

  30. Yes, absolutely since my focus has changed. It is My Little Lovebird (mylittlelovebird.com) but to be honest I just don’t have the time!!

  31. I blog at Different kinds of normal. I chose that name because I write about my family…. the tag line being 2 adults, 6 children, Bipolar Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder….. and I write from the belief that everyones experience of normal is different and we should all accept each other, make accommodations for each other and do whatever necessary to accept each others differences.
    Michelle

  32. My blog is Melbourne Mum, because I live in Melbourne and I’m a Mum. I thought it generic enough to be able to capture all my various idiosyncrasies, loves, thoughts and personal cray crays. It’s not just about Melbourne, but it certainly has that locus point.

I love your blog name, Chantelle, I think it’s genius. Only problem is I read once that someone thought it was Fat Muslim and I haven’t been able to get that out of my head since. Kx

    • The first time I came across her blog, I thought the same thing, but then it didn’t make sense to me as a blog name, and felt relief when I reread it. 🙂

  33. I’ve changed my blog’s name twice. The first name was utter rubbish, chosen under pressure like many others have related. I eventually changed it to “Day 85 to Infinity”. It’s a healthy lifestyle blog, and had arisen after I completed a 12-week challenge, which is 84 days.

After several years, I was more serious about blogging and wanted a custom domain. I’d moved on from the 12-week thing, so had a think about it and came up with FitBody Fifty. That plus my tagline pretty much sums up what it’s all about. 🙂

  34. My blog name is “Northern Delights”…it came about since I’m a northerner anyway(from Scotland) and I started the blog while living in Finland, even further north! It’s of course a play on the term Northern Lights too. I like to write about fitness and health topics, but I can write about anything at all that interests me and I feel like sharing; travel, web, tech stuff, photography, all sorts! 🙂 Welcome: http://www.northerndelights.weebly.com .

  35. My boyfriend came up with the name for my blog (A Cut Above The Retsy)… I had never even heard of the expression before (English is my second language), but I love it and I’m thankful he thought of it!

  36. I’ve changed mine twice. It first started out as ‘Love is Everything’. I had just gotten out of a relationship and couldn’t get that ‘do all things from love’ saying out of my head. Then it changed to ‘City Spirit’ when I thought I wanted to write more about my city. Finally I realized I really blog about things that I love so that’s when I renamed it to ‘XO Panda’. (Panda being my nickname that everybody calls me).

  37. Hi Chantelle – I’ve called mine Fabulous Foodies Fixing Fine Food – because I love alliteration (www.fabulousfoodies.ca). It was originally Fabulous Foodies Fixing Fine Food for Better Health which was too long and not a real representation of what I’ve ended up writing about. While better health is certainly a part of it, it’s more – I write about restaurants, books, wickedly decadent desserts and so on.

Hope your final weeks of “waiting” will be as comfortable as possible and that the Prize at the end will be so worth it.

Greetings and best wishes to you from Canada (the glorious west coast)
    Shelley

  38. I’m a blogging beginner. “Sunshine in Puddles” was born less than a month ago. It reflects (no pun intended!) my life as the parent of a child with severe disabilities and how we find the positive in the often murky. My non-verbal daughter chose the name using her communication book so it’s extra special. She actually suggested “Sunshine in Puddles making Rainbows”…but I liked it simpler leaving people to find their own rainbows.

  39. At the very beginning I was inspired to blog because of a TV show, which my name once reflected. However as I grew my blog and my blogging topics changed and it was time to change my name.

After having a brainstorming session with a graphic designer friends we came up with Blonde Ink. I love the name and it will always be a part of me 🙂

  40. My blog name is ‘mum of five girls’ ….it was my username in a forum previously…and seriously i’d still be trying to think of a good blog name…so I just went with that !!

  41. My blog is carlysfamily.blogspot.com.au simply because my name is Carly and my blog is about the goings on in my life 🙂

  42. I named mine ‘one chocolate box’ because I wanted to represent the idea of the variety of things I’ll be writing about. However I ended up getting fixated on book reviews. I’ve just come back from roughly a year long hiatus though, and am determined to write about different topics.

  43. My blog wonderfullywomen.com came easily too me, I started it for something to focus on when my marriage of 23 years fell in a big heap. Our house is just women now, me, my two gorgeous teens and Miss Tiger the resident fluff ball. Still love the name and would never change it. 🙂

  44. Hello, My name’s blog is “Showtasting” as I write about tv shows and I want to give a taste of it… When I came up with it, I had the expression wine tasting in my head… But it might be weird to have such a name for a blog i write in french. But it came up to me and it seemed an evidence… I couldnt think of anything else to call it!

  45. I wish I had a good story about my blog name. But I don’t. So I’ll let you make one up 🙂

  46. I called my blog Shambolic Living – it was a representation of the chaos of my life – and perhaps a bit of deviation from the perfection I was seeing on a lot of other blogs.

  47. My blog name is One Busy WAHM. I knew I wanted to start a blog and brainstormed for days… weeks… months. It got to that point where “you’ve just gotta get started!”. Talking it through with a friend on the other side of the world, she said to write down all the things about me. I’m a work-at-home mum (WAHM), I’m always busy… and One Busy WAHM was born! I do love the name, it’s catchy, easy to say… I still have my days when I question if it’s totally the right name, but for now – it’s me 🙂

  48. My blog name is Adventures of Heidi the Happy Homemaker. I wanted to blog about anything and everything and I have. I haven’t been blogging lately, too much life has been going on. But when I do, it’s about cooking, couponing, parenting, kids, family, love, friends… it’s a huge plethora of topics! I don’t think I have ever wanted to change it, because my life is an adventure, albeit a boring one for most, but it is my adventure! 😉

  49. I’ve been wanting to start a blog for years, but every time that question about what the blog’s name is comes up, well I just freeze up and cancel the whole thing. It’s like a virtual tattoo!

  50. Not so happy with my blog name at the moment – but writing away and hoping for inspiration to strike

  51. my blog name is “eeny’s universe”
it was one of those quick decisions when i decided one night, that i want to start blogging. eeny is my nickname so that was obvious. universe because i wanted my blog to be my own universe, where i blog about whatever i want with my own rules and everyone is welcome to explore.

  52. Mine is ‘Oh Xica Maria!’. It’s a popular saying in Portugal…like ‘Hey pretty girl!’

  53. My blog is called “Defying Gravity” because that is the song my kids and I sang at the top of our voices on the last drive home from school, before we started homeschooling. “I’m through with playing by the rules of someone else’s game”. I like it because we do defy gravity frequently – we look at the world differently now.

I did think about changing it, because I wondered about the “stealing” of the song name, but it was a saying before it was a song. And so I just got my domain name and Defying Gravity it is. It is mostly homeschooling, but also random family/mummy-blog stuff too.

  54. My blog is very new and it is called Home with Charlie (homewithcharlie.com) It is about renovating, decorating, parenting, cooking, cleaning, organising, procrastinating….all the things that go on at home!

  55. My blog is called The Strands Of Me. I wanted a blog where I should write about anything ‘me’. The title is from my Alopecia Areata, a condition where my hair falls out in patches. It’s a big part of my life as it affects my everyday life I wanted to reflect it in my blog title. Hair = Strands. 🙂

  56. I’m hopeless at choosing names. My first, and main, blog is named “Amusing Michelle” and was intended to be about things that I enjoy (that amuse me). Other people think that I think I’m funny. So the name is a double-entendre. My second blog was created when my mainly card-making blog attracted papercrafter followers who didn’t care much about my photography. So I created “Happy Snap Michelle”, which I update less often, but which has followers who want to hear my stories and see my photos. I’m happy with my blog name. It turns out that I show up at the top of lists because of the “A”, and I haven’t seen any other “Amusing” blogs… yet. 😉

  57. I called mine The Trials and Tribulations of Mummyhood. I was a first time mum making the foray in to parenting and learning my way. I am still learning my way but now I have two of them, they certainly keep me on my toes. I just talk about what’s going on in my life and hope that other mums can relate. The best compliment I got from a girlfriend is that it reads like we are sitting down having a chat over coffee 🙂

  58. My blog name is Phunk (phunkblog). I can’t really remember how I thought of it & I did think of changing it when I decided to start blogging more regularly on a dedicated domain but I couldn’t think of anything I liked better and it’s fairly short and catchy (although perhaps easy to spell wrong!)

  59. Our blog name is “The Climbing Tree”. I do a whole speel about it on our about page, but basically it’s named after this tree in my parent’s garden that my brothers and I have always called “the climbing tree”. It’s where Luke proposed, where we got married, and where we dedicated Lior. So it’s become a big part of our Carbis family as well.
So all that sentimental stuff combined with the symbolism of trees – Firstly growth, but then also the fact that even with breakages climbing trees just get better and better because new shoots come out and go off in different directions.

So that’s why we named our blog “The Climbing Tree”!

  60. Mine came from want to start a personal blog – I don’t really like it much anymore especially when you see ‘more popular’ blogs with whimsical names like ‘teacakes and tiptoes’ (hey, that’s pretty good) and are able to create a brand from it.

I just added ‘into’ onto my name because I figured people reading the blog would be ‘into’ reading things about me. Not clever or special, but it feels pretty nice as a Twitter handle and I’m not sure I can be bothered to change it after all this time. It’s like an embarrassing teen email address, think of the hassle of moving it all over(!!!)

  61. My first ever blog I started in early 2008 was ‘Little Miss Emma’ which is my handmade childrenswear business name, but it was quickly apparent I was blogging about lots of other things as well as sewing and handmade stuff so I regretted that. Then we moved back ‘home’ to my family farm and started a new chapter of our lives, I changed to ‘Cinderella at Brindabella’ (Brindabella is the name of the farm). Then we decided to up and leave our lives after we got married, traveling around Australia for a year living out of a ute and working on cattle stations. As you do. So my homey/baking/decorating/sewing blog seemed doomed, or a bit stunted to say the least. I started a new blog about our honeymoon adventures, ‘The Happy Campers’. We travelled for a year and then I closed down that blog as that chapter was finished. As we were bumping along dusty outback tracks though I brainstormed all these ideas and concepts and thoughts into how I wanted to blog, what I wanted to write about, how I wanted to write, what I wanted to DO. I wanted something that could be transient, just like our life has been, I didn’t want to have to change names or styles as our life did, I wanted it to evolve with me. So it had to be generic, but still reflect the essence of what I blog about and why. I came up with literally pages and pages in a notebook of names, some just words, phrases, ideas. Then I asked my bloggy friends what they thought, they saw the tangent I was going on and came back with ones they loved, ones they thought would pigeonhole me, and ones they thought of themselves. It was lovely Lou over at Sunny + Scout who suggested ‘She Sows Seeds’. I freaking LOVED it. So that’s what’s in my name – I wanted it to be reflective of our rural lifestyle, farming roots, a little bit organic a little bit whimsical, not too prissy, not too rough, not just telling a story of one element I blog about. I think it’s perfect and hope that it sticks with me for many, many more years.

  62. When I decided to write a blog the name was my big stumbling block. I actually collect Buddhas and I was sitting looking at some of them and wondered how many I had. So I counted them and at the time I had 53. All of a sudden the name for my blog came to me. 53 Buddhas and Me. http://www.53buddhas.blogspot.com By the way I now have way way more than 53 Buddhas in my collection.

  63. You’re right – it’s so difficult, because it seems like all the “good” ones are taken. And there’s such pressure to have a great name, even if you’re just blogging about life so your parents can see the grandkids. 🙂 But I chose “This Blog I Like” because I would always talk to my husband about ideas or things I’ve read and I started the sentence, “Hey hon, on this blog I like, I read that. . . ” So I thought it would be a cute name. I’m sure if I thought longer I could have come up with something better, but that’s it now. http://www.thisblogilike.blogspot.com

  64. When I first got online I chose ‘Sparky’ as my nickname (free translation of my Dutch married name ánd the name of my then eldest cat), so when I bought a domain it became ‘At Sparky’s’, as I wanted to create a home where friends could visit. Yes, I know it is the www – lol – but I always thought of my website as just a place for friends to stop by and browse around. I knew my blog would have scribblings about everything and nothing – again I thought that only my friends would visit – and I wanted the name to involve cats and writing. An online friend (from Israel) suggested ‘Sparky’s Scratches’, and that’s what it still is. Never felt the need to change it, I’m blogging for myself (and the occasional visitor), and I’m fond of the name 🙂 Besides, I’ve found that – eventhough there are many people nicknamed Sparky – the combination ‘Sparky’s Scratches’ is unique 😀

  65. I have two blogs. The first one is called “I’m Knitting, Not Smoking” that started as “I’m Crocheting…” when I picked up hook and yarn to keep my hands busy while I quit smoking. When the knitting fire took me, it morphed into mostly knitting with a bit of crochet and sewing in the mix. That’s my crafty blog. My writing blog “Crazy Writing Person” grew from a writing group blog I set up when we decided to all write a 50k word novel manuscript in a month (NaNoWriMo) and needed a place to post our trials and tribulations. Once the month was over and the group folded I realized that I was in the habit of daily writing blog posting so I kept going and now I post every day there, mostly what’s up in my day with a tiny bit of prompt writing at the end. It’s also where I posted my daily Photo a Day snaps when I was playing along. I’m not following along anymore but I can’t get out of snapping and posting at least one daily photo. Thanks, Chantelle.

  66. My very first blog name was nice and cheesy -Behind Blue Eyes… I was 15. Haha current blog is shelbyisrad because that was already my twitter name and a few other social media things. Rad is my last named shortened, and actually my junior year high school english teacher nicknamed me Shelby Rad because she was always worried about misspelling my last name and it stuck.

  67. Choosing a blog name actually took a few days for me. I knew I wanted the blog to be more of a journal of the crazy fun stuff we do as a family. I eventually decided to go with http://www.6hollowlegs.blogspot.com as my 3 kids love to eat, I love to cook and it just worked for me. I still like it & am glad I didn’t pick the first 20 names I brainstormed.

  68. Hi! I just recently started to blog. I ended up with an alliteration of Fun Fit Photo. Fun = life’s adventures, Fit = to cover the various races I do, and Photo = to share my love of photography (although that part hasn’t been brought up yet on my blog).

  69. I have SAHM- Stay at Home Madness, which I might change when I get back to blogging.
I used to have one called “I’m a big Fat C*nty liar” which was awesome, very me as I tend to swear a lot, but also very short lived 😛

  70. Hello! My blog is called Margot & Barbara – after two female characters in a 70’s TV show called The Good Life. When people read through my ‘about’ page on the blog, they totally get why I’ve called it that. But I spent a LOT of time saying ‘no, I’m not called Margot’ or ‘No, I’m not called Barbara’ – to the extent that lots of my friends call me ‘Babs’ now anyway. Even though my name’s Elizabeth!

I have been tempted to change it, but after two years, it’s kind of stuck. So, I get around that by starting up new blogs, about different things, with different names… 🙂

  71. ****Updated****
After reading this post and making my comment, I was really thinking about blog names. And a name just came to me that I really love! “Polished Arrow.” It just fits and I’m posting a new blog today about why I chose that name!
    ****Updated****

Mine simply takes after my name, Jess Elyse. Only because, like you said, it is very hard to come up with a name. I mean, I don’t hate it, it is my name after all. I am looking/thinking of some more creative names though.

  72. I can’t remember what I first named it…But when I did my rebrand, I changed it to “The World Is My Jester” and it’s something that’ll stay with me for the rest of my life so I don’t feel like I have to worry about rebranding my personal blog down the line. I was born on April Fool’s Day and it just fits, no matter how old I get and how things change in my life 🙂

  73. I started my blog about a year ago at the suggestion of my husband to give me an outlet outside work and family life. We were thinking about names and he came up with ‘Cupcakes and Nerds’ -we are both big nerds and I was into baking at the time. I even made it a little logo of a cupcake wearing glasses! I think I’ve only ever put one recipe up (not even for cupcakes, haha) but I think the name is cute and am going to keep it 🙂

  74. Hi Chantelle – love your blog name. Is one that you can’t forget! Mine is miss trixie drinks tea. Trixie is my grandma’s name and it’s my favourite name ever! And although she drank coffee, tea just flowed a little better 🙂

  75. I am such a huge klutz and mayhem magnet and my husband and I always call my stuff ups Hiccups. Its really just a politer way of saying F###ups. So when I was too many cocktails to the wind accidentally created a blog, I needed something that would summarise what I was going to share on my blog – and so it was Life Love and Hiccups. x

  76. Hi Chantelle.
I just started to blog at http://www.weberg.dk It is my lastname so it is maybe not the best blogname. I just wrote a blogpost about the FMS photo challenge in Danish. How it helped me get more inspired.

  77. I started my blog three years ago. unbeknownstlove.tumblr.com
It means unknown love. I looked up that word randomly. I have never changed it. I post all of my instagram pictures and my fmsphotoaday pictures too.

  78. My blog name was easy – Aunty Mogg’s Blog – it’s the name given to me by my niece as she couldn’t pronounce Monique! My blog is about my creations for those I love – I started creating for my niece when – no before – she was born so it seemed right to name it for her! Actually Aunty Mogg is me everywhere – my business name At Aunty Mogg’s, my blog, my email & my nickname – everyone calls me Mogg or Moggy!

  79. My first blog was named Hsawaknow which is Wonka Wash spelled backwards (from my favourite film) – but then I got more serious about blogging and my photography and knew that just wasn’t going to cut it. I changed my blog to what I decided to call my photography business, Look See (which I originally wanted to be Looksie, but preferred the second option) – which is all about (funnily enough) looking at and seeing the small details.

  80. This is my second blog, so i had a bit of an advantage this time around, since my first blog had a pretty generic name and web address had nothing to do with my blog name. This time, I wanted to remain anonymous, but I was so paranoid that haters were going to be looking for me, so that’s how I came up with the “Looking for…” part. The Luck and Love came because I’ve always been looking for luck and love, and also because I love a good alliteration, so suddenly it was “Looking for Luck, Love, and…”

  81. Mine is ‘Love Kate’ as in signing off a letter…. Love Kate xxx

I wanted my blog to be about me writing to the world, or myself or anyone in between lol.

  82. I call my blog “Fit Fit Britt Britt.” Different groups of friends (who have never met each other) have coincidentally given me the same nickname: Britt Britt. So, when I decided to start a blog about getting in shape, I wanted something to incorporate my fitness life with my personal life and hence, Fit Fit Britt Britt was born! 🙂

  83. My favourite endearment term is Darling, and Veronica is after my fave comic book character… Veronica of the Archie Comics! And back when I wished I could sew (around 2000) and could one day have a sewing label, I wanted to call it Veronica Darling… so now it’s my online moniker too!

I started off with Veronica Darling’s Crafty Adventures as the actual blog title, but evolved into just Veronica Darling when I started to blog more stuff than just sewing and crafty stuff… life stuff…

  84. Mums Juggling Act !

it helps because it will always encompass my life and I’ll always be juggling.

I still get bored with it though.

    I like your blog name!

  85. Names are so hard! I wonder if blog names are harder than kids names? My husband and I are trying to settle on our boys name who will be us in less than 20 days.

I have two blogs – theseaandmechange – my husband and I moved to the sunshine coast and i talk about anything and everything.

the other blog is traineemama – I quite like it as I am completely clueless about my journey ahead of me.

  86. Hi Chantelle, I love naming things (except children, argh, the pressure!), I’m: Mama in Wonderland (www.mamainwonderland.com.au) and it came to me quite quickly as most of my flash-in-the-pan-that-end-up-being-parts-of-my-life ideas do…

Speaking of names; my eldest child is also a girl named Lacey! Good luck naming your new bundle of squishy love… xx

  87. Hi FMS, I love your blog!! Anyway, I named mine Lollies and Lipsticks [http://lolliesandlipsticks.blogspot.com/] because I want to capture every aspect of me in my blog: being a woman, a wife and a mother. Eventually, I find it too long and the message sometimes feel vague and I thought of replacing it with something that will easily identify and label my blog as a mommy blog. But then, I still don’t know what name to give it so I’m sticking with it. 🙂

  88. Just Another Blog. There are so many blogs out there that in reality, mine is Just Another Blog.
I mainly blog about my children and living in the States because it’s so different to living in Australia. Sometimes i can go months without updating because, really I’m just that boring.
And no, i have never been tempted to change it. 🙂

  89. Hi Chantelle,

First of all I love your blog name so no need to change it!

I blog as thebusymumma and originally chose it as when I first tried to blog (took a while for me to get into it) I was working full time, studying off-campus part time and had a young daughter. How apt that name is now in the future, must have been fate. I have 4 month old twins and my almost 5 year old and am I deed very, very busy lol.

  90. I’m on my second blog, it’s name is Retro Honey. It came about through a conversation with a much younger woman in a bar who constantly referred to me as older (once she had worked out my age). That little cow was relentless – “when I’m your age…, being an older woman and all, you look good for your age, you act young for your age.” In the end, I put my hand up and said, “Listen here, I am not old, I’m retro…honnney.” It stuck.

  91. My blog name is Rain on a Metal Roof, because of the metal roof on my house. Whenever it rains, I go upstairs and listen to the sound of rain on a metal roof. I’ve just always loved that sound, and it’s a pretty unique name.

  92. This is something I can relate to. I think about changing my blog name all the time. Mira La Belle But my middle name is Mirabel and French has a permanent space in my heart so… Love your blog, I think I’ve gone through almost every category. Still going.
