Best ever guacamole. Seriously.

It’s quite a daring thing to call something the ‘best ever’ isn’t it? I must be daring, because I do it often. Not about everything but about things I believe in. Like my guacamole and my chocolate pavlova. Never about my dancing or singing skills. Ever.

Guacamole {or avocado salsa} is one of those things that people have their own versions of. They add their own magic to them to make them the best ever version. My Lil Sis uses sweet chilli sauce, Hubby doesn’t mind a little sour cream and Big Sis likes chilli. A friend of mine adds coriander, and I think she comes in a close second behind me.

Mine relies on good produce, deliciously creamy avocadoes and sweet cherry tomatoes. If your avo is hard, forgetaboutit. If your cherry tomatoes ain’t sweet, forgetaboutit.

Ingredients
2 ripe avocadoes, peeled, seeded and diced
1 punnet of cherry tomatoes, chopped into quarters
1 clove of garlic, crushed
1 red onion, diced finely

Method
♥ Place all of the ingredients into a serving bowl. Mix to combine.
♥ Serve with corn chips or on toasted baguette slices

I may have munched on these while watching a little Real Housewives. Fess up, what’s your favourite TV show right now?

  1. I make my guacamole the same way except I add salt and pepper too, but I've never tried cherry tomatoes. Ill have to try cherry next time looks yummy!

  2. Favourite shows are Revenge, Housewives and as of last night Being Lara Bingle! Nothing better than an avo dip. I'll be putting your recipe to the test! 🙂 xx

  3. Yummmm …. looks great.

I am currently watching Grand Designs Australia, True Blood Season 4, Army Wives and Grimm. My absolute favourite show is NCIS, and I find Vampire Diaries strangely addictive. Also enjoy a bit of Nigella and Jamie. I love tv, absolutely love it!

  4. Yummm… That has totally made my mouth water! I'm adding avocados and cherry tomatoes to my shopping list!

I am loving this season of the block at the moment. Love Grand Designs and Amazing Race too!

  5. Chantelle, this is almost exactly how I make my guacamole! And people do request I make it at happy hour time! I use garlic salt instead of garlic cloves, though, as I like that stronger kick that the salt gives it.

  6. This is exactly how I make my guacamole! I double the garlic cloves and use himalayan salt, though.

I am currently addicted to Keeping Up With The Kardashians reruns, True Blood Season 3 and Mad Men x

  7. Ohhhh chocolate pavlova. Ohhhhh. Can't do avocado though. Fav shows are definitely Offspring and Revenge. The writing and acting in Offspring are genius. Plus I'm one of the few who still watches Desperate Housewives and doesn't watch any reality television…

  8. As for TV shows:
    – Revenge (i seen all season 1)
    – Once upon a time (also seen all season 1)
    – Pretty Little Liars (cant wait to see season 3)

  9. I make mine with lime juice, seeded and chopped plum tomatoes, and chopped cilantro as well as the obvious avocado and fine chopped onion.

Mine is a recipe from the little elderly mexican lady across the street. I like to think that as Guac is Mexican and so is she that the recipe she told me is pretty authentic!

  10. Yum yum. I add chillies, lemon juice and a little olive oil to mine usually, might start adding tomatoes when i want to keep it away from the boyfriend!

  11. Did you ate a lot of avocados in Australia? 🙂 I just read post about avocados by another QLD team member 🙂

  12. I am sure that my daughter will enjoy this recipe…i am not a big fan of avocado..
    My favourite tv shows are:
    -Once upon a time
    -Pretty little liars
    -The big bang theory

  13. Your Guac looks great! But I must admit that my husband thinks mine is the “Best!” LOL! One of my secret ingredents is mayonaise…Aw, you laugh! The other secret is a blend of spices and herbs. Aw, you laugh again…LOL! My husband and son do NOT like tomatoes or onions or garlic. They don't want any cruchy things in the guacmole. So I doctor it up just right and everyone likes it. But to say it's the best…well, each can be their own judge. I would really like to taste yours!! It looks yummy!!

  14. Love How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, The Mentalist, Housewives and Say Yes to the Dress (love to watch these last 2 while talking to my adult daughters on the phone while they watch too), and Mad Men. Fortunately they aren't all on all the time, or I wouldn't ever get anything done! Love any type of guacamole. I'll give this a try the next time I have a couple of ripe avocados. Thanks for sharing.

  15. Oh we don't get any mexican food here in Mumbai. 🙁
But do you watch Parks & Recreation? The title & first few lines reminded me of Chris Trager. Like he would have said, “This is LITERALLY the best guacamole I have EVER tasted.”

  16. Mine's exactly the same (right down to the sweet little cherry toms, and the chunkiness), but with just a squeeze of lime as well. I never used to use garlic, and then a friend told me that was the secret ingred in her delectable version, and I've never gone back! Makes all the difference 🙂 Good for game night I find (State of O, for eg?!)

  17. I make mine with onion, lime juice, cilantro, and green bell pepper. It's amazing (if I do say so myself) and very much requested!

  18. Looks soo good! I add cilantro, fresh lemon juice, diced onions, and of course some jalapeño peppers (gotta have it hot and spicy in my household!) I do leave it chunky like yours, though! If I am feeling adventurous, I will add some diced fresh mango to it. You wouldn’t believe how great it is until you’ve tried it! I am in the states, so I love this new show called Suits! It’s awesome!
