A Girl Loves To Dream…

O

ften whilst I’m searching on Etsy for the elusive perfect black dress {which I haven’t found just yet} I’ll stumble across the most perfect black wedding dress. I see it every few months {I’m sure I saved it to favourites but I can’t find it again now}. And it has me dreaming almost immediately.

I dream of a wedding in a beautiful sun-filled field. The sun’s not too hot, it’s late afternoon and we’re all comfortable, without a bead of sweat on our brows. There are handmade patchwork quilts laid out with love on the lawns, and personalised picnic baskets for our wedding guests. They’re filled with teeny little sandwiches in the shape of love hearts made with the softest white bread one could ever find. Fairy lights are strung in the beautiful, aged trees. They soft light will illuminate the sky as we dance into the night.

The women sip pink champagne from mismatched antique glasses, and the boys stand around and laugh together, beers in hand. The kids run around in the grass. The girls in teeny vintage frocks and the boys in little shirts teamed with dirty converse. There are cupcakes, and laughter, flowers in our hair and love fills the air.

And I’ll look up at Hubby and start to say, If we get married again…

And he looks at me as if I’ve completely lost my marbles, Babe, we got married. You only have one wedding. Ours was perfect.

And I know it was. I wouldn’t change a thing. But a girl loves to dream…

Print is my all time favourite which I have framed at home from Abby Try Again.

  1. I do this. I think of how nice it would be to do it again… I imagine it in our backyard, with friends & family around us. Although, that's pretty much how we did it the first time 'round. Very casual. And fun.

I even tried my wedding dress on last year. Hubby was like, 'Why on earth have you got that on?' I was just pleased I got in to it.

We're celebrating 10 years of marriage this Sat, so this post is very time appropriate!

    Thank you. Lovely. x

  2. I am an Etsy addict.
Im currently on there looking for bouquet charms for my BM's bouquets.
I bought my vintage style garter set off Etsy from Garter Lady.
    She done an amazing job.
I would have never found anything like it had I continued to look around in a normal bridal store.

  3. Oh yeah, that does sound like a perfect wedding. I tried on a dress once that was a black velvet bodice and an ivory silk skirt…so beautiful! Uhoh…there I go again about wedding dresses.

You've inspired me to blog about wedding dresses…I'm off!! See ya. 🙂

  4. Actually, there seems to be a real trend of couples renewing their vows with a full on wedding ceremony. I know of three couples who are celebrating 5, 10 and 20 years of marriage by doing it all over again, big dress and all. So, it could be not if, but when you get married again!

  5. That sounds beautiful and relaxed I love it. Mind you in my mind when I pictured sitting on the grass on the quilts my mind automatically said “the ants! What about the ants!” So we must work out somewhere with no ants haha.

  6. Maybe one day he will just surprise you with a renewal ceremony or something wonderful and you can have your dream wedding all over again 🙂

  7. Ohhhh that sounds like the perfect wedding I am secretly planning in my head 🙂

I think we should all campaign to get your hubby to agree to it, just so we can live vicariously through the pictures on your blog… it sounds so wonderful!

  8. That sounds lovely. Really lovely.

But hubby and I want to renew our vows in Vegas. In front of a REALLY fat Elvis. And he has to have an obscene jumpsuit and lots of chains. Haha.

  9. Ooooh that sounds like a perfect little wedding!

The love and I still brainstorm about what our big day will be like… this definitely sounds amazing.
