52 Week Project: Five.

I

knew when I started the 52 Week Project {a self portrait every week for a year} that it was going to be hard. This week I realised that there is only so many photos one can take in front of the mirror. And a home only has so many mirrors.

I’m hopeless at the self-timer. My lens doesn’t allow me to turn the camera around and shoot a photo of myself. So until I can figure out another way, the mirror is the way to go.

After taking about 30 photos in front of the mirror in our hallway, and hating them all, I flopped down on the bed in frustration. And then decided to try one last time. And this is it.

Only 47 weeks to go. I better put my creative thinking cap on.

  1. I admire your perseverance with Project 52! I started something similar and have fallen off the wagon (a few times)…I love this place. Thanks for making me smile!

  2. ok m'dear, because I am really good at telling you what to buy, I have another suggestion for you: A wireless remote for your camera.

    I brought one on the weekend, the Canon RC-5 or something, for $50 from the local camerahouse. Best $50 ever!

  3. I agree with phunk, I have been doing a similar project on my blog, and I dont always take one of my face lol… What camera do you have? I have the canon 500D and I LOVE the self timer on it, sooo helpful lol…

  4. can i ask why you always make your photos have that washed out appearance? while I understand you are creating a look and feel on your site, it seems so…. i dont know the word I am looking for, but they are all the same…

    perhaps a photo with vivid colour could be a change!

  5. @Blythe: Thanks. 😉 I think it might be a Peta Mazey action. I can't remember what her actions names are called.

    @B: Thank YOU! I am going to try really, really hard not to give up!

    @Bel: That's a sweet way to put it. xx

    @Phunk: That's a great idea! I'm onto that! Ta. xx

    @LovelyLittleNest: Thank you. xx

    @Melissa: Yes, I ran Peta Mazey's actions over it. I think. I was playing with a few photos, but hers are my favourites at the moment.

    @April: I bought one within 5 minutes of reading your comment. Will tell you how I go! You're dangerous for my budget.

    @Jennifer: Please do!

    @Perk: I have the 400D. All my self-timers are no good at all. I am going to try and put more time and patience into it!

    @Chelley: This is the first time in many, many weeks. Thanks for noticing. xx

    @Deb: My photos straight out of camera are always overexposed {just how I like them} and I guess that's my style. I always shoot that way. I love that. You have set me a little challenge though and I am going to try and get some colour popping ones for you. Thanks for the challenge. xx

    @Vic: Thanks lovely! xx

    @Jen: Thank you sweetness. xx
