  1. i hired a house on the beach and celebrated with friends 🙂
luckily we had no restrictions on parties…. we had such a good night and there was plenty of space so everyone could stay.
I hope you find somewhere as gorgeous as the place you had already booked x

  2. You are too honest for your own good! I would have just assumed a lunch was not a party – but made sure I didn't have too many guests or made too much noise – that house is soooo perfect :((((

The photo of lacey in the lifejacket is so cute hehe

Anyway i'm sure what you decide will be bigger and better than that stupid house anyway *folds arms*
    – good luck with the planning.

  3. thats annoying.

for my 18th my boyf at the time and me hired a hotel room on the top floor of a hotel in forster. best. view. ever. anyway. i had like 20 people for my party. yes. couple of complaints. but the guy didnt care as long as nothing was broken. so that is weird they consider a lunch a party!

my best birthday would have been my 21st – the mystery flight + going to forster with my boyf and seeing friends + fam.

  4. I bet that would have disappointing to find out. Looks like a beautiful spot. I just had a quiet 30th but am thinking that I'll have a big do for my 40th.

  5. What a gorgeous house! It would have been an absolutely beautiful little holiday for you!
I so wouldn’t have told them about the lunch plans either, I really wouldn’t have considered that a party in the slightest. Not unless it was with like 50 people or something.

I hope you can find an equally nice house and location.

  6. Wow, that is some house! Such a shame, oh well I am sure something even better will come along that will be just perfect! Good luck, can't wait to hear all about your new plans, when then come to fruition.

  7. Doh!

Hamilton Island has lots of great houses for rent and cheap airfares…just thinking (just cos I really want to go back 🙂 )

  8. I'll keep you all posted on what ends up happening.

I wish I never told them, but I guess I'd be anxious about it the whole time. I just wanted to have about 8 couples. Nothing major. And it would have only been a lunch thing. Not a night time booze session.

I think it's fate though, somehow. Perhaps I will find something even BETTER! 🙂

  9. Boo on them! I am sure you will find a much more wonderful and fabulous place to celebrate your birthday.

This subject just came up yesterday and everyone at work were kind of shocked, but I technically have never had a “Birthday Party”. My B-day is right around July 4th so my parents just kind rolled it all together and slapped a cake at the end of dinner. I don't feel like I lost out or anything though.

  10. ooooh no! what a bummer, you're too honest. i usually am but can be sneaky sometimes. we hired a place out for the weekend and got married there! didn't mention a word of it, obviously, to the real estate agent. all the rules stated was it was to sleep a certain amount of people. so we stuck to that rule (didn't include the kids though) – only that certain amount of people slept at the house, but there were about 50 people there during the day/evening! i'm sure you'll find something fab! x
